Me too! I remember finishing the book on a Saturday morning, and then I was grumpy all day because of Sirius dying! (this was back when I went to boarding school, so a lot of people noticed!)

Haha!! Yea, I was a melodramatic psycho after that book! I must say i felt Harry's angst! I'm reading the book again and i must say I feel the same frustrations that Harry did in the book as well as the same frustrations I felt while reading the Book. By the way my favorite book was Book 4 largely because it was so bittersweet. This is where, I feel, that Harry lost his innocence with the world in which he inhabited as well as within himself. Up till now I felt that Harry was ready and able to take on each challenge head on. After this book I think he was a lot more cautious, and worried about each decision he made. This is obvious, following the deaths of Sirius and then of course Dumbledore. It's SO SAD!!!

I can't really give adequate reasons as to why Azkaban is my fav, except to say that it was the first time the threat of Voldy became truly personal to Haz, as oppossed to a concept formed by incidents of the past. Plus, it introduced us to Lupin and i love that man. He's a good deal like me in some ways, and so i empathise. (coz i turn into a werewolf on each full moon, naturally) But i agree with what you say about book 4 sagedautumn, although i think the loss of innocence for not just Haz but all the main kids features even more prominently and really climaxes in Order - with their fight in the Ministry, they confront some of the most ugly sides of human nature, under circumstances that even adults wouldn't handle well. And then Harry's "cracking/breaking" moment at the end is evidence i think of everything hopeful and optimistic and confident in him really vanishing and seeming ineffective in the real-life situations, which is why i think that scene is so heartbreaking - i cry reading it.

I'm sorry mate! I didn't expect the mini forum to be taken down so soon, so i was just doodahing around, biding my time until someone else posted there first and then i'd jump in to respond to their ideas! Possibly i can work on Dom and we can get it back up. Don't fret - it's my b'day party this weekend and i'll coerce her with cake! We SHALL have the mini HP forum back, this i vow!

this may sound totally stupid, but it only recently occured to me, why the weasleys have red hair. seriously, during all the reading of the books and watching the movies, i never thought of the cliché witch. now i feel all stupid for not noticing and being ignorant and all, and wanted to share that. i should start paying more attention to what i read...

I think I remember hearing somewhere that red heads were considered to have supernatural qualities or something... although it might have just been the impression I got from reading "The Perfume"! But it does sound familiar. We probably won't reopen the forum for just you two (neh and sageautumn) for space concerns with the new book list hopefully being finished over my break in a few weeks, but you're welcome to start as many threads on it if you like, you can have a thread on every book if you want It probably makes more sense to do it that way since we are still a relatively small board.

Just a note on the topic of HP threads: my thanks to Jefie for letting us have another! And Dom, sorry for my silly talk and requests. I'm very happy to see that POA is ahead as the fav by 7 votes; it seems that while new installments come and go, number 3 remains super special to people. Add to which i feel it also resulted in the best film adaptation.
