I often wonder if the faithful servant Voldy referred to in that infamous speech was in fact Snape not BC Jnr... you never know. Voldy could well have been as hoodwinked as others about which side Snape is on... to be honest, we can't say for certain if the greasy git was fooling DD or Voldy until we get absolute definative evidence in DH...... and that's if we do. The man could remain an enigma forever and ever and ever...... *looks off pensively into the distance*
Just a sidenote. I think Voldy's graveyard speech could be read in many ways, just like the prophecy. The wording of both is deceptive because at first it seems very straighforward and obvious, but then the more you re-read it, the more you realise that a heap of options and interpretations are presenting themselves to you. It's infuriating!

That's true i think we are all unanimous as to the fact that Snape is very clever BUT although i believe he can fool Voldemort with Occlumancy or the Levit...err... something. I don't think that it is that easy with Dumbledore. Remember DD made his mistake in not telling harry the prophesy in his 1st year at hogwarts, i doubt he would or could make another mistake. "With great power comes great responsibility." (Gandalf LOTR) I don't think DD would risk another folly when so much is at stake if he was not 100% completely sure of where snape's loyalties lie

Guys, I need your help with a passage from HP and the Goblet of Fire - I've just started re-reading the books and there are quite a few details I had forgotten! When Harry gets back to Hogwarts and tells the story of Voldemort's resurrection, he says that whatever protection he had against Voldemort had disappeared because Voldemort was able to touch his face. Then it says: "For a fleeting instant, Harry thought he saw a gleam of something like triumph in Dumbledore's eyes." Why is that?

What do you guys feel as to Draco Malfoy's Destiny in book 7? Do you think he will live? Will he betray Voldemort and join the Order? I think that since we know Draco as the great coward he will remain so... i don't see him doing a complete turn around especially now with Dumbledore and basically having the whole wizarding community in shambles.

I agree that he is essentially a coward and i think he will try his best to get out of the whole war entirely once he can be garunteed his folks safety. That said, the parentals won't be too pleased with his run-away attitude, so methinks our little blonde boy is gonna have a hard time pleasing anybody in this installment. So he could potentially be a fatality, but somehow it seems unlikely... it's boring to state but i get the feeling we won't see the death of many youngin's in 7.. in fact, apart from Ced, all our major deaths have been adults.. so if you ask my sadistic self, it's time for the loss of someone young to really hammer the tragedy home again! (hehe, me evil)

Thanks for your answers, although now I'm even more curious than I was before - thank goodness the book is coming out next month!
Got another question: what about Dumbledore's brother? He's mentioned at the beginning of HP and the Order of the Phoenix, is he mentioned again later on? Like I said, there are quite a few things I can't remember and I'm looking for clues...

Yes, Aberforth Dumbledore is in fact be the barkeeper at the Hogs Head(the somewhat shady bar further up the road at Hogsmeade) and as such the Order may have a very good location for some spying to take place, IF Aberforth has a side at all anymore (he was in the original Order) Myself i think he is still pining for some more romantic interaction with goats, the strange man.... anyhoos, here's a little info on him: www.hp-lexicon.org/wizards/aberforth.html

I think he'll be helping Harry find out a lot more about the past and what exactly Dumbledore wants out of him. A lot of stuff is unclear and I think that Aberforth and Dumbledore were close even though DD is pretty shady about their relationship. Unless of course he has gone bad!! That could be another story entirely.
Neh!!! Glad to have u back mate!! Hope ur feeling better, a bit! I think Malfoy's odds of dying are pretty high. One, we, as the readers can't stand him because he makes harry's life miserable and is a git, Two, because in not being able to kill DD he screwed up big time whether he stays or he leaves to go and hide and when u screw up during Voldy's watch it is not pretty (think Karkaroff and Rubeus Black: both killed) and three well, he tried to kill DD. I'm sure people saw him, saw him try to do what he was unable to do.... That kind of makes him enemy by association. He was there when Snape killed him. Another ?? In an interview with J.K she stated that Sirius is definately dead. This can be seen through the passing of Kreatcher from Sirius to now Harry. But in another separate interview, J.K was asked about the two-way mirror and J.K stated, "Good question, and you have your answer!" What role do u think the mirror will have and in what way??

Hasn't Harry tried to use the two-way mirror at the end of 5th book? I can't remeber...I really need to re-read all HP books.. Thanks for the link neh! I like what Dumbledore says of his brother's "bravery" so funny! DD's great sense of humor

Just another thing I can't wait to know...that thread is filling me of curiosity! I'd love to hear something from Sirius again. And, I forgot to write it in my last post, I agree that Malfoy is a great coward.
