It would have been interesting if it was about Petuna, it makes sense that it might be.
I don't think I like Ron working in a joke shop either, it's too small a role compared to Harry's one as an aurora I think. Although it is nice that George got a new partner.

I couldn't really see Ron as an auror though. I would also think that he would want to do something different than Harry so that he could succeed on his own rather than in Harry's shadow yet again. Plus, Ron always wanted to make money and the joke shop was really successful.

That's true, I'm not sure that Ron should be an aurora. But I'm not sure I like the joke shop idea either. Something else.... lol

I would have liked at least one of them to have a Muggle profession also... i just feel that we Muggles got the rough end of the stick ultimately, in the eyes and minds of the wizarding population...

Neh, what you said a bit ago about Luna and Neville getting together...I had kind of hoped for that as well.

Plus, Ron always wanted to make money and the joke shop was really successful. i agree...i remember reading a recent interview in which jk rowling said that dumbledore really understood ron, he knew that he wasn't the intelligent of the trio or the chosen hero but in the end it was his strong sense of friendship that held them together and i think that in the deathly hallows you can really see that... i would have loved too a little more interaction with the muggle world!

I read an interview with Ms. Rowling, and she said both Ron and Harry became aurors and revolutionized the Ministry of Magic. Here is the exact quote and link: As for his occupation, Harry, along with Ron, is working at the Auror Department at the Ministry of Magic. After all these years, Harry is now the department head. “Harry and Ron utterly revolutionized the Auror Department,” Rowling said. “They are now the experts. It doesn’t matter how old they are or what else they’ve done.” today.msnbc.msn.com/id/19959323/

It would be sorta nice if Ron didn't have to do the same thing as Harry all the time. He doesn't really have to be the sidekick forever, so I prefer to think he works at the joke shop with George rather than be an auror with Harry.

I don't remember that part! Hmmm...It's funny that Neh mentioned none of the Hogwarts teachers were married. For some reason, I never really caught on, I never really thought of their lives outside of Hogwarts

Yes, I remember when Dean grabbed Luna's hand - maybe they went out for a while, who knows? You don't have to marry the first guy you go out with

I guess that's true, but in Harry Potter world it seems to happen a lot.
I always wondered if any of the teachers were married or if being single was a prerequisite to being a teacher. Maybe you can marry another teacher?...

Oh, the teachers at Hogwarts may well have relationships outside of the school, but i imagine it would be tough when your partner is away from home for so darn long every year! DD for instance always struck me as a man who was unattatched entirely in that way. As for Dean and Luna, i just thought that was a bond formed when they were at Bill and Fluer's house and sort of left out of the mix from the trio, and they became good mates. That's all i read into it, but i think it's equally as sweet as being girlfriend and boyfriend. I agree with everyone that Ron should have a chance to stand apart from Harry, so perhaps working in the joke shop is best for him... but even then, why couldn't he be doing something of his very own???

I agree, it's kind of like he's just gone from being Harry's sidekick to George's... or Fred's... which one is still alive again? I think it's George?

Yeap, George is the one alive! It must be hard losing your twin huh? I'm with you guys, Ron should find his own way... Being an auror doesn't quite fit him and working in the joke shop would be too much like he is replacing his dead brother... I just can't think of anything suitable for him though... Maybe he could write books to share his knowledge on relationships! Something like 'Getting the girl you want, for dummies'...
