GO ME! I am the first to post here having finished DH; how odd for i was pretty slow this time round... anyhoos, here i go! Primary thoughts and feelings: - DD was fascinating, as always, in this book for being revealed - possibly for the first time ever - openly and genuinally capable of very bad things. I still love him though ahd always will. Dumbledore's Army lives! - Neville is the most wonderful human being to walk the HP earth - so's Harry of course but Neville takes a very close second! - Ron and Hermy = love - FINALLY, FINALLY, FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Mrs Weasley can kick arse, and that's where Ginny gets it from. Best line ever: "Not my daughter you bitch!!!!" *applause* - Red herrings, a fair few of 'em - really threw me off in moments! - Hogwarts united is one heck of a force. GO TEAM! - Draco..... a pleasant suprise, i must say. - Wandlore - who knew it could be so dam complex?! - Luna said the sweetest thing to Harry when they faced the Dementors - i can't quite recall it but it made me tear up... - is there a braver soul around than Harry? I think not - children - they all have families now! Hurray for good things - as for the Harry horcrux and the Lily/Snape thing, i am happy to see my theories (well, mine and many others of course) in print, certified! That felt good! - RIP to the following: Hedwig. The bestest owl there was. Dobby. A free elf with a heart of gold. Lupin and Tonks. My fav couple. I sobed like an idiot when that happened. Completely broke down Snape. I never liked you but i respect you now, at the end. Thanks mate, and i'm sorry Fred. You made me laugh for years - you rock!!!!! Colin Creevey. Bless that little Harry fanboy foever! Lavender Brown (i think she's dead). Poor giggly girl Scrimgeour. Well, i could say you had it coming but that's not fair
If i've missed anyone, please let me know, coz i'd feel awful! All-in-all, i liked it muchly; it was certainly a fascinating read and a solid end to a fab series. I think the impact of it all will probably hit me tonight and then i'll really breakdown, so be prepared for a very emotional Neh tomorrow guys!

I just finished. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed and unable to say too much. I think I'll be ready to discuss once I've had a time to digest everything. There is just so much to say, I'm not sure where to start. But I liked it.

I finished it last night .. kind of wished the epilogue explained a little more about the families.. i was getting a little confused with all the names being throne out. .. anyways -anyone know who Teddy Tonks is staying with ? - and did anyone else feel completely sorry for Snape :-( ... I mean he loved her all this time .. and never got to be with her , (that's about the time i broke down ). But over all the book was amazing .. i literally couldn't put it down.

the book was amazing. i got it, set up in my room, and then did nothing but read for 19 hours straight. i felt sorry for snape. poor guy. i didn't really like the epi. personally, i have never liked harry and ginny. ginny seriously gets on my nerves and the couple just seems so...idk. i would have rather jkr go without that last chapter. it all seemed to "our world is perfect. we are all happy." kinda thing. i like ron and hermione together like most people but i think it would have been better to let readers come up with their own ideas as to how they all end up years down the road. i assume teddy lupin ends up with his grandparents. and i agree. throwing all the names out there in that last chapter was VERY confusing as to who belonged to who.

Yes, i think i would have preferred the story to end without the epilogue, coz i don't like things being so sugary sweet... i've always been a bit harsh like that with how i wanted Harry to conclude... my opinion is that the series opened without a sense of absolute happiness and logically it should end that way. I think that finishing it with the final chapter as it was would have worked fine - i prefer to imagine continuations anyway. But still, i am both a H/G and a R/Hr shipper, so in that sense i was pleased to see they all went and got busy! (hehe, i'm so tactless!)

I didn't like the epilogue either. If she was going to wrap things up, then I want more information than who married whom and what they named their babies. I want to know what jobs they have, what are other people up to, etc...
Other than the epilogue, I liked the book a lot. I'm glad Snape is good. I'm glad Harry is alive (sorry Neh). Dobby's death was the saddest for me. It did end very perfect and happy and cheesy, but it is a kid's book (as much as we may argue that it is more than that). I think we all knew that it was going to have a happy ending.
I'm feeling a little lost today now that it's over...

I love seeing how some else has visioned what they read .. but all the movies seem ed to be different than what i thought it would look like

I wish it wasn't over. The book was really good. I'm so glad Snape was good all along, I always had faith in him. Dobby dying was so sad and Mrs. Weasley yelling at Bellatrix was hilarious. All in all, I'm happy with it.

I finished Saturday night and I thought it was absolutely amazing. I didn't really like the epilogue much either but mostly because I can't imagine them any older than teenagers! It's so weird! But I did like knowing what happened in the future. And I'm so happy Snape ended up being good even though I hated him throughout the entire series...

Hehe, it's ok memccart - i never really wanted Harry dead i don't think... i just really wanted to avoid the cheese that came in the epilogue. Whinge, whinge, whinge hehe! And swissmiss i too hated Snape throughout the books and i still wouldn't want to spend a day with the bloke but i do feel for him.

I enjoyed it I had guessed the Harry being an accidental horcrux thing, but dismissed it because all of the other horcruxes were somewhat evil and Harry wasn't... but I was wrong I finished it today. I wasn't a huge fan of the epilogue, but apart from the sickly sweet couply children aspects of it, it did show that Harry went on to lead a rather normal day-to-day life which is nice I guess. How weird was the bit where she included a "maimed" baby, I'm assuming to represent a part of Lord V., in that scene with Harry and Dumbledore? When he was marching off to his death I was like gee this is a bit sick, writing a book for kids (and for adults too of course) about a boy that was doomed to die throughout the entire series...

yeah, i also had the feeling about harry being a horcrux, but i thought it wasn't safe to use humans as horcruxes. eh. i didn't really like the epi either, though i absolutely loved the part where harry said "albus severus, you were named for two headmasters of hogwarts and one of them was a slytherin and he was probably the bravest man i've ever known."
also, i loved mrs. weasley yelling at bellatrix as well [:

I was convinced that Harry was not a horcrux, so I was surprised. Although he wasn't an intentional horcrux, so I guess I was kind of right. I think someone else should have killed Bellatrix - I didn't think that Mrs. Weasly had enough of a personal grudge with her. I would have liked it to be Neville, but I was so happy with the way Neville was protrayed in this book that I'm ok that it wasn't. Esp. since he got Nagini. I was happy that Mrs. Weasly did something so strong though. I get an serious anti-feminist vibe from these books and I'm glad when women do something important. Yes, baby Voldemort in King's Cross was creepy - but it shows what he becomes because he tried to avoid death. So, do you guys think that Harry died? I've heard people say that, but I don't think he did. Dumbledore says that he doesn't think he is dead. Do you think it was in Harry's head? Dumbledore had answers for him, so maybe not, but mostly Harry figured it all out for himself at Dembledore's prompting. Or do you think it was just another realm - not life or death, but something in between?
