I couldn't really see Ron as an auror though. I would also think that he would want to do something different than Harry so that he could succeed on his own rather than in Harry's shadow yet again. Plus, Ron always wanted to make money and the joke shop was really successful. i agree...i remember reading a recent interview in which jk rowling said that dumbledore really understood ron, he knew that he wasn't the intelligent of the trio or the chosen hero but in the end it was his strong sense of friendship that held them together and i think that in the deathly hallows you can really see that... I think it's true that Ron is the one who held them together and it's a very important role! I was so sad when he left Harry and Hermione, I really missed him and I was so happy when he went back! I also agree with memccart. Neh, what you said a bit ago about Luna and Neville getting together...I had kind of hoped for that as well. Did you guys notice the Dean/Luna hand-holding at some point? I thought she might be setting that relationship up. I noticed that too! and I thought they would get together at the end (although I hoped she'd end up with Neville..) I'm so happy that Neville survived!

There's one glitch in the Grindlewald plotline though.... Jo said specifically in an interview with Mugglenet in 2005, right after book 6's release, that he was DEAD - DEAD, DEAD, DEAD. So she lied?! She's never outright lied - and to her most adamant fans!!!! I didn't know she told he was dead..maybe she changed her mind in order to give Grindlewald the opportunity of showing a little remorse for his past...and to highlight that Voldemort is even worse than Grindlewald. Does anyone think that DD knowing Grindlewald when was young could help him to notice that there was something "wrong" with the young Tom Riddle? that he was a sort of potential evil wizard? After all, the other Hogwarts professors really appreciated him.

Yes, do do!!!! *jumps up and down with excitement* It's the only thing i like converting people on - HP-love! me too! I've been trying to convert my bestfriend (although she does not like fantasy novels as a genre) since I bought GOF in summer 2002...I'm not annoying at all because I know it wouldn't work but I'll never completely give up.

I don't know if this falls under the HPTDH thread, but I read on perezhilton.com (a guilty pleasure ) that the Deathly Hallows movie will be in two parts.

Really? Seems to me like the first part would be kinda slow... but at least they wouldn't have to get rid of some important plot elements

I heard that, too, but I also remember hearing that about the 4th and 5th movies and that didn't happen.

If they do it in two parts it could be interesting. On one hand, the readers might be more satisfied if less is cut from the book. On the other, I don't think I'd be able to watch both parts without thinking it has something to do with wanting more money. Usually, as long as the actors are the same in a series of movies, everything else (to an extent) is fine.

I think that having it in two parts would be pretty good - I really hated the 5th movie cos they cut out a lot, even though everybody said it was well directed and everything.

I have to say i'm undecided as to whether i am pro or con on this; like most fans, i would love as much detail as they can possibly fit in, and that always means a much longer running time... but i think that actually SPLITTING the film in two may not get the best reception from an audience... perhaps if it's just a long viewing, with an intermission stuck in the middle, like in theatre?!
