One of my favorites is The Little Prince by Antoine De Saint-Exupery. My mother read it to me when I was too young to read and I still remember all of it! I was shocked the other day when a friend said she hadn't read it because it is a really intense memory from my childhood...

I recently discovered The Wizard of Earthsea, and the Silverwing series, I've really enjoyed both of these. Anne of Green Gables is probably close to my favorite though.

It's interesting coz i ahev just started a course in Children's Lit as Uni and there's debate each week as to how anyone can fully define a work as written FOR children... so many classics from 100 years or so back were in fact written for adults or often for no specified demographic and yet today go under the heading of 'childrens works'.... Gulliver's Travels for instance. Just thought i'd butt in there and say that, hehe! The course makes me feel i should join in on this thread in particular!

I'd forgotten about this one book called Parts by Tedd Arnold until I saw it in a book/coffee shop when I was there the other day. I really loved this book! It's so funny...
