ohhh I loved Matilda as a child! I was very into Dahl. I liked The Witches, James and the Giant Peach and the one about a mean grandmother or something? I forget the name.

I think I mostly read books by Astrid Lindgren as a child. Like Lotta, Pippi Longstocking, The Children of Noisy Village and Ronia the Robbers Daughter. American or English children´s books weren´t that common then as they are now. Can´t remember having read one except for Enid Blyton.

Anne of Green Gables, hands down. I also like the "Edge Chronicles", but they're pretty recent.

I didn't even know there was a lunch box. The only reason I ever read Ivanhoe was because it was on Wishbone.
