Yesterday, I finished reading The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho; I found it very faith affirming to read. Then, today, I finished reading Disgrace by J.M. Coetzee; it's plot and characters are going to continue to haunt me for a long time.

A Long Way Down by Nick Hornby. I liked it. I thought it was a little slow in the middle, but overall, pretty good.

Question: does listening to an audio book count as reading a book? If so, I finished Al Franken's Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right. If not, then disregard this message.

Haha, I always tease people who count this as reading How was it btw? Yeah - I'm unsure how to count it. 1/2 a book? Count it with an asterisk? It was pretty good. I wish I'd "read" it back when it came out but still pretty applicable today - Bush, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, and Ann Coulter (who we are still trying to disown at Michigan Law) are all still lying to everyone...

I finished The Host by Stephenie Meyer. I wasn't sure I'd like it when I started it, but I ended up really enjoying it. It was very addictive

I count all audio books that I listened to as books read. It's not the same thing of course, but the end result is the same....you've heard every word the author has to say. (As long as you listen to unabridged versions ) I think of it this way too - if I was in a classroom where the teacher read aloud an entire book for us, I would count that as a book read. Or back when I was younger and my mom used to read aloud to me.

Also, I finished The Solitary Vice Against Reading by Mikita Brottman. I was really enjoying the first 2/3s, and then she started getting into her favorite genre - True Crime. I'm not into true crime, and I found her praise for it dull. But the rest of the book was very good.

Count it with an asterisk? ;D I read Silk by Alessandro Baricco this morning, while I was working at library. I'd planned to read Emma but I forgot it at home...luckily it's plenty of books there
