lol, good point!
Thanks for replying, I love to hear your opinions on this matter. Even if it's not my country, whatever goes on in the US usually has an impact on Canada... I was also wondering whether race could become an issue in these elections. You always hope that it won't, but then you also have to be realistic. It's kinda sad, but I guess it makes sense that people would vote for Edwards just because they think he stands a better chance against the Republican candidate. I also hope people are fed up with the Republicans, but last time I thought there was no way people were going to re-elect Bush and look at what happened...

I'm hoping that we are beyond race and gender at this point but I know that we probably aren't. I think the country is more ready for a black president thought than a woman. It makes me happy to see that the three democrat frontrunners are so different - like anyone really can do anything. That sounds cheesy, but I think it shows that our country is finally getting a clue.
Obama is interesting because biologically, he is just as much white as he is black, but no one ever sees that. I'm sure race will be a factor for some people and some parts of the country, but where I live, I can't see it making a difference.

On a completely different subject: one of my resolutions was to lose weight/get fit. I decided to take on running, since I can't afford the gym. I want to buy a pair of good running shoes but I am at a loss. Anyone have a good suggestion? I saw the Nike + stuff which sounds good since I already have an ipod but I just don't know... Any runners out there with tips?

I've owned many many pairs of running shoes and have always liked the Adidas ones the best. They always felt the best while running and fit the best. But I think almost any brand can be good, just try on lots and pick out the ones that feel the best on your feet.

I've been a Nike fan all my life. They last a long time and fit really well. I've had shoes before that get really loose after a while but Nikes stay pretty snug.

I like Adidas best, too. I think they have better support. Or New Balance. I really need new running shoes.

Thanks guys, I'm going shopping tomorrow so hopefully I'll find a good pair that doesn't break the bank!

Last year I wanted to lose weight and I have been pretty good at losing weight, I don't know how much I have lost but all the clothes that were previously snug are a lot looser! I really need to get toned though! So I am hoping to begin running again and doing more weights! This year I want to start keeping a journal again! Reading Trying to keep my sanity would me nice!

I'm doing good on my 2008 resolution (reading one book in Spanish per month). I've only got two more books in Spanish to read to keep it up Not sure if I'm gonna make one for next year though...

I've started thinking of resolutions for 2009 and I want to start soon, even if we're still in 2008 - First of all: keeping a bookjournal; - exercise more and loose 4kg (I have two pairs of jeans and a skirt that can't fit anymore but I really miss wearing); *I'm saying another thing that reminds me of Bridget Jones...lol, will I find a Colin Firth/Mark Darcy sort of boyfriend next year???* - getting my degree (that we call Laurea) as soon as possible, I still have 5 exams I think it's enough...

I need to look after my health more, I don't necessarily want to lose weight but I want to get fitter and improve my immune system, strength and general well being. I get sick a lot and I'm so unfit compared to what I was a couple of years back. I also need to pay my dad back about $600 and I was hoping to get enough together to go overseas at some point, but that probably won't be possible as this time next year I'll probably be moving to another city (I will have finished uni) and will need some savings. But anyway I resolve to save my money one way or another. Bring my GPA up higher. Some of my marks in my first year of uni have meant I'm just under a credit average, I should improve on that before I have to look for a grad job. I'd like to say read more, but that's so dependant on how much uni work I have rather than being under my control that I don't think I will.

1) Read more: now that I'm done with high school, I want to squeeze as much holiday reading as possible! 2) Get less addicted to facebook 3) Tone up a bit: mainly on arms can't think of anymore!
