Last year I gave up pop - diet coke specifically. If I go get fast food, which isn't often, and my meal comes with a pop I'll get sprite, because at least that doesn't have caffiene. But that's rarely, and I haven't had a sip of diet coke in almost a year. It was amazing - no cavities, I drink tons more water so I get sick less - I only got sick 1 time last year, normally I get colds and sore throats a lot. Plus it's cheaper - not getting tons of diet coke at the grocery store (especially good now that I walk everywhere and carry my groceries home) and order water at restaurants.
This year I haven't decided on a specific goal yet. I want to read more, and exercise more, but I can't think of any thing specific to shoot for, that's realistic. Pop was a huge one for me, I really needed to do it.

I also have the goal to save money. Money burns holes in my pockets and I think I need to curb that.

I was thinking about doing that too, but it would take me a long time. There are so many second hand books I've bought and haven't read yet.

i think i might even try to not buy a new book until i've finished reading all the books i've bought and haven't read yet. that would be chancy though, because i believe my local bookstore is going out of business at the end of january and so i might have to wait until february to start so i can stock up for when it's gone. plus then i can take advantage of the sales and such. but i really think reading all the books i have should be a resolution for me because i have LOTS of them. im thinking about that too. i have so many books that i havent read yet and i just keep buying more

My resolution is to stop buying stuff unless i really need too. I buy so many books, and I don't have to read them. I but lots of purses and bags and then I don't use them after awhile. I also buy a lot of school supplies and then they sit is a bag still in the packages.
I really want to stop buying stuff unless there's a good reason to buy it. If there's a book on sale for a great price that is understandable or if it's a new book that i've been waiting for like Harry Potter, and Stephanie Plum...but other then that I need to not buy it.

I'm a big water drinker too; carry a bottle everywhere - i'm quite depedant on it! I'm sure it's a mental thing but i always feel that i can't go longer than 1/2 an hour without some water; i'd never last in a desert! My main resolution for this year is to GAIN SOME DAM CONFIDENCE and try and be more social; to attempt to open up more, especially at Uni, and make more friends if i can. I'm beginning to resemble Emily Dickinson a little too much, hehe! (ok, that was an exaggeration)

Except for school, the library and work (which is a family business) I never go anywhere.

Well, I just requested another book. But I have a good reason. It's the third in a series and I want to read them all in a row so I don't forget anything. But I want to spend money more than buy the third book, so it kinda goes against my resolution, but goes for the one that I want to check off some books on my TBR list.
