I'm just peeved that the Tales of the Bard thingy is only out for a very limited print, in signed copies -there's only 7 copies printed methinks, and darn it - I WANT ONE! *whing whinge whinge*

I love it when she does an interview with people she's comfortable with; all the reserve drops and she's cool and funny and it's wonderful to listen to!

I was a bit surprised that the action happened really early in this book. I cried when Hedwig died, when Harry was burying Dobby without magic, when Fred died with a smile on his face, when Harry learned about Snape's childhood, and when the ghosts of Sirius, Lupin, his parents, etc appeared as he was walking through the forest. I thought for sure that Harry would die in the end. And I respect Snape so much more now. Poor guy. He was just misunderstood all along. I'm glad to say that Voldy's dead. FINALLY.

I was indifferent about the whole Snape thing. I was happy when all was explained about him being good and everything, but that he loved Lily in a pining sort of way just made him freaky. I know I seem cold-hearted, but I'll always think of him as snivelly and greasy-haired. The ending was too corny for me - the kid Albus Severus will be bashed to death on account of his name. I liked the book nonetheless.

I finished reading today and I loved it, I never thought it'd be so good. I didn't have time to read all posts of this thread, so I'm sorry if I repeat something I tried not to read too rushingly, it wasn't easy especially because of the weekend and the lot of free time, sometimes I had to stop and start doing something else. I was looking forward to see the ending and understand everything but I was afraid to miss something important. I really like it and I'm happy that the final battle is set at Hogwarts because I was definitely missing it! It was weird, throughout the book I laughed and got moved (and cried) more than once and sometimes at same times (when Fred died I was still smiling for Percy: "Hello, Minister! Did I mention I'm resigning?")...I just feel terrible when Hedwige, Mad Eye, Fred, Dobby, Lupin and Tonks died. For me the most sad were Fred and Dobby's. I also had the impression something bad would have happen to Lupin and Tonks when he asked Harry to be Teddy's godfather. There were also many part where I can't help laughing: Mrs Weasly yealling at Bellatrix was amazing Lee Jordan and especially Fred at Potterwatch: "he can move faster than Severus Snape confronted by shampoo when he wants to." lol. You rock guys! I was so happy that some characters reveals themeselves better, such as Kreacher and even Dudley...Kreacher was great when brought Mundungus to Grimmauld Place. I have to admit at first I was kinda disappointed to all those revelations about DD, (of course I didn't trust Rita Skeeter) but then I realized it's fine that there are no totally good or evil characters (as Siuris said " We've all got both light and dark inside us" and I think that made the characters more realistic..if it makes any sense). When I started the book I was pretty determinated to think the worst of Snape and I agree with neh: (regardless of the 'which side' debate - he was still an utter BASTARD to Neville, Hermione, Lupin, Sirius etc.) but I respect him more now and he doubtless was very courageous. Same for the Malfoys, they're very very selfish but Draco's mother helped Harry anyway and I didn't expect Draco being shocked for Crabbe's death he has a heart after all. I liked the ending, it was kinda confusing with all those names and cheesy but I liked it anyway. I'm SO happy Harry and Ginny ended up together, SOOO happy!! I think Ginny is great! (she's one of my favorite characters and I could never stand Cho since she first appeared) and that they managed to have a "normal" life. Same for the couple Ron and Hermione! I was also sure Neville would die but I'm terrible glad it didn't happen! yay. GO NEVILLE!! he was great ferusing to obey Voldemort when they all thought Harry was dead, killing Nagini and being the head of rebellion against the Carrows at Hogwarts! he's wonderful (and his grandmother too). I can easily picture him as a Hogwarts teacher. I'm also glad he didn't kill Bellatrix, I really expected he would, but I prefer he didn't. I thought Harry could be an accidental horcrux too but I was sure I was utterly wrong...I guess I just didn't like the idea of Harry dying but JKR found a good solution..and harry survives that's all I can think of, for now. I'm going on reading this thread later

I always expected something a bit more to happen with Petunia's character to be honest, I always thought her role might expand a bit more than what it actually did in the last book. I did expect the same. I'd have liked Petunia to talk more to Harry especially after what Dudley said before they left. I thought the letter said she couldn't AND she was mad at Lily and Snape for reading it, as it would be a rather embarassing fact for her to have known. I agree. I wonder if they idea of reading that letter came from Lily or Snape... Can you imagine what would happen if Petunia'd have told Harry that the "awful boy" who told Lily about the Dementors was Snape? I was sure she was alluding to James Potter..eheh

I'm also glad he didn't kill Bellatrix, I really expected he would, but I prefer he didn't. I agree Lu! I thought he would have killed her but then I thought that this would be vengeance, I was surprised it was Molly but it was the right ...to kill a woman like that you need another strong woman!
