Have any of you seen the webchat Rowling did after Deathly Hallows explaining characters' futures, unexplained things and random questions? It's quite interesting. www.hpana.com/news.20137.html

Thanks for the link, Neh! At first I was kinda wondering, why did she feel she had to do that? Not that I care whether he is or isn't gay, but I was just wondering what the point was. And then I read her explanation and like you said Neh, it makes a lot of sense and I think it helps us understand why he was seemingly so easily led astray by his friend. I love him even more now!!

Actually, both Lostgirl and my sis feel that this piece of info has no real support or evidence in canon.... i personally feel that it depends on your reading, and also - it was never necessary to bring it up, so i figure unless she felt the need to put it in the encyclopedia *fingers crossed that goes ahead* then we would never have known anyway.

I think it's good that she told us. I was having trouble with how easily our righteous Dumbledore had been led astray and I think this gives it a good reason.
I don't buy the no relationships with females reasoning though. None of the Hogwarts teachers have any romantic relationships that we know of (except Hagrid). I think you could say the same about any of them.
I like the line at the end of that article:
"Not everyone likes her work, Rowling said, likely referring to Christian groups that have alleged the books promote witchcraft. Her news about Dumbledore, she said, will give them one more reason."

What i hate is that *some* people are starting to say ridiculous, cruel things like DD's obviously a peodophile! UGH! I hate it when i suspect the worst of people and then they follow through!

I hate that people assume that a gay person would be a pedophile. He could be a pedophile if he were straight - there are girls at Hogwarts, too. It makes me mad that people confuse the issue.

It kind of makes the whole Grindelwald/Dumbledore chemistry make sense. No wonder Dumbledore let Grindelwald walk all over him. I think Rowling said it best love is blind

I know it sounds awfully dumb, but I always envisioned McGonagall and Dumbledore having some sort of past. One of my friends wondered if Dumbledore had a man crush on Harry - I think I need new friends.
