Fun thread, Lu!
well, I'm reading Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince right now. It's extremely hard to pick 1 favorite, so I'll pick a couple: Harry, Ron, Neville, Dumbledore. (these are my favorite characters from the series though, I'm not far enough in to remember who my favorites are in this particular book.

Great thread! I actually don´t like Harry too much, the other characters ( Hermione, Dumbledore, Snape) are much more interesting I last read special topics and I liked Blue best, probably because the other characters are so fuzzy.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix: That is a hard one. I think I might have to say Hermione. She's growing on me this time around. Or Neville. My least favorite is Umbridge f course.
Sense and Sensibility: Elinor probably even though that's obvious. I also think Mrs. Jennings is a riot. My least favorite is probably Anne Steele - she sounds so annoying.

(I can't remember.. and I 'just' finished that book) Vanity Fair has sooo many characters and I don't like Rebecca Sharp... I think I like Dobbin best, because he's nice.. and I picture george osborne as a very handsome man.. But I guess I should read a bit farther into the book to know the characters better, because at page 100, I still don't know a lot..

(I can't remember.. and I 'just' finished that book) She's the older Steele sister - the one who likes being teased about the doctor and always talks about "beauxs." The one who let Lucy's secret slip. Although she is referred to as Nancy at that part and confused me but Nancy is nickname for Anne I have since learned.

I'm reading One hundred years of solitude and I really like Ursula. She is such a powerful and determined woman.

A Great and Terrible Beauty - um... probably Kartik, oddly enough. He seems to be the wisest of the bunch and certainly the most enigmatic - and who doesn't love an enigma?! I suppose i'm meant to side with Gemma as she is the protagonist but i find myself just shaking my head at her antics most of the time.

I'm reading Primary Colors and I think I like Richard best. He's not really sane, but pretty funny and energetic.

Out of Africa: Karen Blixen, and also this boy Kamante that started working with her as a kid. I love how blunt he is.
Dead Souls: Hard to find a favorite character, because most of them have so little parts. Tsjitsjikov would maybe be the obvious answer, he is certainly interesting, but I can't get myself to like him.

Jane Austen books usually confuse me with all the different names used for one person... same with Vanity fair.. I guess thats something for 'old' story's..

With Graduation over !!!! ;D ;D I will NOW get back to my reading I left off with DD very weak after getting the third horcrux and my favorite characters are: DD, Harry, Ron(He is so clueless), Hermione, Neville, and Fred and George, Basically I like them all EXCEPT::: Ginny (I don't know why, i think it's because i can't stand the girl who plays Ginny OR it might be because I secretly harbor a crush for harry, i'm not sure) Malfoy: What a D*** Fudge: I love how even though he is disgraced and was pretty brutal to harry in book 5 he still had the audacity to ask dd if he could get harry to say he supported him! (UH!) Scrimgoer: Once again, a jerk Slughorn: Sounds physically repulsive like those old fat repulsive relatives who seem to be always red-faced and talk a lot while bits of dribble is shooting out of their mouths (Yuck!!)
