Oooh, I like all the ideas in this thread. I think I will start a more detailed book journal. I have two journals now, a paper notebook where I list the book, author, and date finished; and then an online spreadsheet I use to list the same information, and also a tab to list all my favorites. I really like the ideas of writing down who recommended the book or how you found out about it, as well as including favorite quotes from the book. I'll have to get a new notebook now. Wonderful! I love buying office/school supplies too. This fall was the first fall since I was 4 that I didn't go back to school, and it was sad, so I bought myself a lot of school supplies anyway, even though I've graduated. I think I always will, it's too much fun....not to mention very good sales!

I jot stuff down in random notebooks that are for other things at the moment or post online someplace. I've tried out a couple of blogs solely for book journaling purposes and vox is going pretty well. I'm gonna buy a proper hardcover journal for it in the next few weeks. I like writing down words I haven't heard before and looking them up as I go as well as writing quotes and what I thought. It's a habit my creative writing teacher got me into to expand how I use the language and remember interesting words.

i have a spreadsheet on the computer with books too. it has title, author, pages, and total pages of all the books together. i italicize my favourites, i bold the ones i have to read for school and i box in the ones for the bookclub thread on here. very precise.

I made my book journal look much better today. I took some pictures of different authors out of a book magazine (Gustave Flaubert, Truman Capote, Astrid Lindgren, Heinrich Heine...) and wrote a poem of Allen Ginsberg on the front page.

mine's just a tattered green-covered spiral notebook. i have the quotes from my signature on here written on the front in permanent marker. and the lower right hand corner is cut off, like a little square is missing because i used one of those scrapbooking kinds of scissors to make the edges cool...it's nothing special but it looks used

I brought a pretty new book for my book journal yesterday. It's got a pic of a flower shaped candle on it,

Yesterday I went looking for a notebook to use as a book journal, but i found the perfect book. ;D On the coved it said "Book journal". Inside it i found lists of book awards of prizes and of course plenty of room to write down books i have read and going to read! Amazing! ;D ;D

i need to invest in another journal because my notebook is falling apart. lol but i still have like half the notebook left! i hate it when i get halfway into a journal or diary and then i want a new one. so to stop my temptations i don't buy a new one until i'm mostly done. most of my normal diaries have like 20-30 blank pages at the ends because i can't wait to move on to the next.

Oooooohhhh... I want a book journal. I had never thought about keeping one but that is such a good idea. I have the worst habit of finishing a book and not remembering a thing about it except whether or not I liked it. I keep trying the blog thing but I end up having more fun designing the look of the site than I have writing anything. Thinking of trying the notebook thing...

I always read this post, and think how great it would be to start a book journal. But then once I get off the internet I forget. But there is a new year coming up, I'll give it a shot.

Ode I found that book journal on amazon, and I ordered one. It'll take 1-3 months to get it but it'll be nice to have. Sometimes amazon ships them earlier.
