i had about 50 babysitter club books, too...
I like all of Jennifer Wiener's books - its just about the only chick lit that i let myself read.

the book I'm most ashamed of liking is probably 'running out of time' by Margaret Peterson Haddix, someone told me that it's rumored that the movie 'the village' was based on it even though the directer said he came up with it himself. I just had to see for myself. It's terribly written, but it was an extremely short read, and worth the comparison.emmie

She wrote a book called Just Ella which was sort of a follow up to the Cinderella-ish Ella Enchanted. I liked it...at least I did when I read it 5 years ago lol

Ummm, Fannie Flagg books I guess. I come from a large Southern family of women readers so it's inevitable.

Ya, I dont know. I was never really into the Babysitter's Club. I think I read one of them. Anyway, I was more into Judy Bloom books. You know, Deenie, Hello God, It's Me Margaret, The Super Fudge books. Those were pretty cool. But Im not really ashamed of liking them. I am kinda ashamed of liking the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants books though. Hehe. I actually just bought the 4th one in hardcover.

Dear God It's Me Margret is the Bible of pre-pubescent girls. I'd like to say i was guilty!!! but i'm not ashamed of the book whatsoever. i felt her angst a lot more than the whole Holden Caufield cliche

When I was in 2nd grade, I was reading at a 6th grade reading level, so my teacher would give me different books. One of those books was Are you there God, It's me Margaret. I had no clue what puberty was or a period or anything and I was so confused the whole time. I don't know why she gave it to me.

I loved the Lemony Snicket series when I was a little younger! I have one of the books, and it has some cool embossed stamp in it and the signature of Lemony Snicket. It says 'with all due respect'. I won it with a contest in a book magazine I used to read. It still has a nice spot on my bookshelf!

I've never read any of those books by Lemony Snicket. In the beginning I just thought it was a rip off of Harry Potter (don't even know why I thought that, but I did). Now I just don't think they look that interesting. Maybe I'll try them one day, but there are more interesting books at the top of my TBR list lol
