I used to love the Baby Sitter's Club when I was younger. I had like 50 books from the series but I donated them all to my primary school's library.

Wow, there are so many books I'm embarrassed to like I went through a Babysitters Club phase for a little while- it was never my favorite though. I loved VC Andrews when I was younger. That's kind of trahsy and embarrassing. I still like the whole Flowers in the Attic series. Others I'm embarrassd to be seen reading? A few chick lit titles. It's not my favorite genre but occasionally I'm just in the mood. Mercedes Lackey's Elemental Masters series. I don't like her other books though

I use to love V.C Andrews. The Flower's in the Attic series are good....but now it's a pen writer and the books are so horrible. Oh and repetative...Girl has a problem, Girl meets boy, Girl gets out of the problem.

I know. I think VC Andrews only wrote 8 Books before she passed away. The Flowers in the Attic series, My Sweet Audrina (also good) Heaven and Dark Angel. Then she died and that awful ghost writer took over

I had over 120 Babysitter's Club books, i read them over a very shameful period of almost 5 years (8ish-12, when it FINALLY hit me to abandon them forever and take up Anne of GG, Little Women and Libby Hathorn works fulltime) and i still have at least 20 of them hidden in my wardrobe for nostalgic purposes. I also own the "Complete Guide"... it came with a map, which at the time i found very cool!!!!!

I never Read "Little Women" by Alcott. I've read a lot of her lost short stories, and she writes very differently. I haven't gotten around to reading it because I know Alcott didn't want to write the book. She only wrote it to pay the bills. She was a feminist. If you want a different persective on her read " The Lost Stories of Louisa May Alcott" and "The feminist Alcott: stories of a woman's power" by Alcott. Great reads!

I have a copy of little women and I liked it but it wasn´t my sort of book somehow. Maybe I should´ve read it when I was younger. Perhaps her other works would interest me more. Good suggestions!

I had to order them because I couldn´t find them in the bookstore. Guess they aren´t popular enough here. And I wanted to read them in english. I think they´re very funny. It would be kinda boring if everyone liked the same books!

I agree. There would be no debating or discussing of the content of what was in the book. I like to read for enjoyment mostly, but sometimes I like to really think about it and analze them.

Alcott also wrote LW as a reflection of her own childhood and that of her siblings, and her feminist views very much took form in the characters of Jo and to a lesser extent Marmee, but i would very much like to find those other works you suggested, so i will do my best to hunt them down - thanks! And Dorothy, i love Lemony Snicket too; it's a riot, and very clever and original i feel (though i find the material gets a little tiring after the first few novels)

Did anyone else love the Babysitters Club books? I did. I signed up for this thing in 5th grade where every month I got 4 books. I ended up with only the first 28 though because I couldn't keep up and them all and so my mom stopped the subscription. I was so in that book club too but i was younger so it was babysitters little sister which was even worse I still have them all to in by basment...my mom definitely got mad at me for not being able to read one a week too!!
