Cool! Your books look great!. Dorothy is right, you're very organized Kristie! I have made some changes on my bookshelves since I took the pictures, my books are still organized in alfabetical order by author but I have a child/young adult section now. It works better for me.

Once I get more organized I will post pictures. I just got a new book case and well it's time to take the books that are in my big suit case out and place them on the shelves.

Good idea! Most of my books are still in Michigan at my parent's house. I just don't have room for everything in New York. I'm slowly bringing my favorites back with me, but the bulk will live there until I have a real house and am "settled."

That's still quite a collection.
Most of my books are in Michigan - I only brought a few out here. I should take a picture to show you how sad the collection looks.

Looks great. I also left most books at home and just brought the books I´d just bought when I moved with me. My books are always where I´m not. For example I left reading Lolita in Düsseldorf and I´m home right now

Hehe! Hannah, i too applaud your logic. I don't live away from home though, so i can't employ it in the general sense, but i certainly should consider rearranging my bookcase to place all the unread ones at the front... perhaps! I just need a larger bookcase actually...

The last time that we reorganized our shelves (which happens whenever I get bored), we made a TBR shelf so that we could see that we don't need to buy anymore books until those get read.

I have a stack of books to be read on the bookcase that's closest to my computer desk. It doesn't include all of the books I need to read, but lots of them, and the ones I want to read the soonest. Unfortunately, even though I frequently see the stack, it doesn't stop me from buying tons more books!

Memccart, does your TBR shelf actually stop you from buying books? haha I could do that with my bookshelf but it probably wouldn't stop me from buying more.

Ditto... it's an act of habit and nothing seems to be able to break the pattern: 1. have money 2. see bookstore and go in 3. purchase something 4. go home and put it on an already groaning bookcase. 5. Repeat and stir!
