I did like the DaVinci code. The movie was horrible. I'd read Angels and Demons, because i've heard a lot of great things about it. I thought that the obstacles in the movie were solved to fast, where in the book there was some confusion and wondering about the tasks.

yeah that is true... but i thought the movie portrayed it actually pretty well... considering all it's information. they can't put everything in, although i wish they could... did you hear that they're making a movie of angels and demons?? i absolutely cannot wait. have you read digital fortress or deception point? those are both exceptionally great as well

I only read Davinci code. I have so many books on my tbr list! I think some books should stay books, and not be turned into movies. Unless they can do the book justice like Harry Potter movies.

yeah that's true... i totally agree and some movies should just not make sequels. they always turn out so much worse than the first ones
but you should really read the other books. they are GREAT

I´ve read all of his books and thought they were pretty much all the same. Illuminati was okay but then they started making such a big hype about it which was totally over the top. Sorry, I´m not a fan. And I think Audrey Tautou should stick with French films.

I liked the da vinci code book better than the movie. I think Dan brown books are quite similar, but I liked angels and demons better than the da vinci code.

i would like to say that i read da vinci code before all the hype about it, but i don't think i did. i did read it first and then angels and demons which i also liked. i like the historical fiction/adventure type books. like the historian...i found them to be somewhat similar and both were interesting. i can't wait for the third robert langdon book to come out from dan brown. i'm sure it'll be awesome...

I'm not a big fan of Dan Brown, mostly because I don't like the way he writes - it's pretty amateurish. The first book I read was Angels and Demons because I wanted to know what the hype was all about and many people had told me it was better than the Da Vinci Code, and I have to agree with them. I liked the basic plot and the settings, and I also liked the characters. Reading The Da Vinci Code afterwards was a bit disappointing because I solved most of the enigmas before Landon did, and I also thought all the characters seemed more superficial. I did like Sir Leigh Teabing though and I was happy they had chosen Ian McKellen to play him in the movie. Paul Bettany and Alfred Molina also did a good job. I did not like Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon, and I thought Audrey Tautou and Jean Reno - two amazing French actors - looked bad in that movie.
But Kristie said that there was a 3rd Landon novel in preparation and I'll probably read it eventually, if only out of curiosity. It reads really fast anyway. I'd also be curious to watch the movie version of Angels and Demons.

I don't like the Da Vinci Code, and I don't like Dan Brown. I could accept the ridiculous plot if the characters were better. I can't stand poorly done characters.

I haven't read this because it was so hyped up I guess I was kind of sick of hearing about it and couldn't really be bothered. I have to admit I was also influenced by the lack of positive opinions friends of mine have had. I think only one person I know here liked it. But I might read it one day. My brother has a fancy illustrated version with historical art work pictures and stuff so I guess that's kinda cool.

I wouldn't say that the da vinci code is my favorite book and I probably won't read it again, but I didn't think it was that bad. It was a very fast read and I liked that there wasn't a bunch of long passages intended only to fill the pages.

I've been skeptical about reading this book. There's so much controversy over it. You know? lol. It totally goes against everything I believe in, but then again, it's literature. It's meant to open your mind, make you see a different, even if it's fictional, view of things.
I may check it out sometime. Was it really good?

I read it for entertainment, and didn't question the religious aspects. It was an interesting read.

I only read it because of the controversy. I figured if everyone else was so excited about it, it must have something good about it. Boy was I wrong.
