I've been skeptical about reading this book. There's so much controversy over it. You know? lol. It totally goes against everything I believe in, but then again, it's literature. It's meant to open your mind, make you see a different, even if it's fictional, view of things. I may check it out sometime. Was it really good? I have also had reservations about Dan Brown's writing for the same reasons. A friend was talking to me about the books and I asked if they were good reads, something I should try despite the conflict with my faith. She said they were poorly written, like a sensational screenplay and obviously intended to be the first draft of a hollywood movie screenplay. I trust her judgement and have never read Brown.

I totally agree with your friend. I wouldn't say that reading was a waste of my time, but there were definitely other things I could have been doing.

I liked the story of The Da Vinci Code. I didn't like the writing so much, but I guess it made it easier to read. The movie was, however, atrocious.
