I LOVE Christmas songs. It's hard to pick just one, but I suppose it would have to be "Have yourself a merry little Christmas." There are lots of versions, but I like James Taylor's version. My other favorites are: Good King Wencelas Angels We Have Heard on High Lo How a Rose E're Blooming Winter Wonderland I'll Be Home for Christmas

I answered that question in another thread it's "Happy Christmas (War is Over)", and my favorite Christmas carol is "Minuit, Chrétiens" ("Oh, Holy Night" in English).

I think O Holy Night is my favorite traditional carol as well.
Lately, the Smashing Pumpkins "Christmastime" has been my favorite.

I like "O Holy Night" but now I'd say I like most Christmas songs, I just like other versions better. I like Relient K's version of "Sleigh Ride" and Hawk Nelson's "Last Christmas". I've been a fan of Trans Siberian Orchestra's music too. I've become more exposed to carols sung in French, but the ones we sing in class probably aren't the best. I like Pat-a-Pan, Un Flambeau, Jeanette Isabelle, and Accourez, Fideles. But of course, "I Want a Hippopotamus For Christmas" will always be my favorite though

I love Sleigh Ride and Winter Wonderland. Also Baby It's Cold Outside is not technically about Christmas, but it's a favorite winter/holiday song. I'm a fan of The Nutcracker, so I like all of those songs too.

Nutcracker is good, but my favorite is Christmas Shoes by New Song. It is so sad but so pretty!

I like Oh Holy Night and Mary, Did You Know. I'm most fond of Norwegian Christmas songs though.

Funny to see that so many people from all around the world like Oh Holy Night Just for fun, I thought I'd post the lyrics of the first verse in French. Has it been translated in other languages? Minuit!

It is originally a French carol, right?

Yes, the lyrics came first (in French), then the music was added and eventually it was translated into English, but I wonder if it's been translated into other languages as well?

I like all of the old classics. "The Christians and the Pagans" by Dar Williams is probably my favorite contemporary Christmas song though - it's so beautiful and folk-y

We have a book of German Christmas carols with O Holy Night in it -- my great-grandmother was German and a concert pianist. I like to try O Tenenbaum in the original language, too. I'm not too into Christmas, but I can listen to Tchaikovsky any time of the year -- he's one of my absolute favorites.

Here it is in Norwegian O hellige natt, o nådestund stund for verden da Gudemennesket til jorden kom ned. For å forsone alle våre synder og lide dødens smerte i vårt sted. Se håpet stråler over verden vide og lyset skinner over dal og fjell Menneske våkn opp! Og fryd deg ved din frihet! O hellige natt som kom med nåde til vår sjel
