Iown it but have not yet read it; as in tradition with me, once i buy a new book but know i can't read it right away, if it's something i think my nan will enjoy, i lend it to her. She liked JABC quite well, especially as she wasnt all that familar with the texts they spoke of within the story. I'm looking forwad to reading it myself.

I have and I liked it, mostly because I went to quite a few JASNA meetings (Jane Austen Society of North America) and I thought the different characters in the book matched the different people who went to those meetings. But I think a lot of people were disappointed because they thought there would be more references to Jane Austen in the book, when really it's just the background idea. It's really about people with different stories coming together, and it shows that all the people you happen to meet have quite a story that you don't know about. It made me think about the people around me, and even about my own personal story, because you don't have to go through a major life-changing ordeal to have a unique story. So yeah, it got mixed reviews but I enjoyed it.
They're working on a movie version of that book...

I have read it, but I didn't like it very much. I found the plot really boring, and the characters really hard to relate to.

There were some discussion questions about Jane Austen at the end. Though that might have just been the copy I had. But the questions were more about the relationship between Austen's books and the book.

I've bought it on Monday. I will read it after having read War And Peace...so there are 800 pages of Tolstoj before The Jane Austen Book Club!

I liked it. It was interesting how each of the sections was written in a way that mirrored the Austen under 'discussion' at that time.
