Thanks everyone! I'm really excited I get to start planning for real now Here's the story as posted to my Vox as to how Nick proposed:
"December 20-22, Saturday-Monday
This was Nick's and my trip. I figured out where we were going about halfway there. It really sucked being in the car while having the aforementioned stomach hangover. But luckily there was no mess. Anyways, we went up to Boyne Mountain, a big ski resort in the north of Michigan. We stayed in another city because it was cheaper, but it was a nice town. Anyways, we didn't do anything Saturday because we didn't get there til about dinner time.
Sunday we headed to Boyne. Nick snowboarded while I sat in the lodge reading The Count of Monte Cristo, my favorite book, so I was very content to be there. I would've tubed, but the hills were closed for that for some reason. Nick came back every couple hours or so to rest and we had lunch. The last time he stopped by I thought he had gone back out to snowboard, but apparently he went back to our hotel and set up candles and roses and chocolates in the room because when we got back HE PROPOSED ) When we were younger and newer to our relationship--about 4 years ago lol--we argued about who loved each other the most. So he asked me Sunday how much I thought he loved me, and I told him more than all the grains of sand on a beach (that was his "I love you more than"). And he said I was right. So he took out a ring and got on one knee and asked me and I (of course) said yes.
Monday we didn't really do anything. We were both tired from the weekend thus far and we slept late and then left for the 6+ hour drive home. On the way home, we stopped at my mom's work so she could see my ring and show it off to everyone. My dad approved when we got home, but he still says he's not sure because Nick never asked him if he could marry me ) Of course that's all just in jest..."
Hope it makes sense...
And here's my ring (sorry it's the best picture I have so far):
(it's got a center stone and 8 small diamonds along the band on each side. it's so pretty!)
