I've never had that work. Sometimes I try to fold them back around again, but that seems to cause problems too.

Hardcover if it's something I use a lot (reference books for example) or if I can't wait until the paperback comes out, paperback for everything else because I can't afford buying all hardcover and they're easier to carry around (I read a lot on the train/tram when commuting).

I have a lot of hardcover, because i'm apart of an online bookclub and the hardcovers are cheaper. i'm apart of BOMC.ca...great prices. I love when it's buy one (full price) and get any additional books half price.

That would be the kiss of death to my bank account. I wouldn't be able to stop myself from getting more books.

So, I put my copy of Native Son in my back pack, and it bent a little. So, I definatly rather hardcover.

I'm a paperback fan because I love sticking them in my pockets and I have a nasty habit of bending the covers back when I read them. And I have to say that I do love the worn out look better than when they're all new and stiff.

I prefer paperbacks because they fit in my bag easier. I don't really prefer mass over trade or vise versa.

I prefer papeback over hardcover, mainly because it's way cheaper. Sure, I'd love to have every copy in hardcover so they can look pretty, and survive maybe a little bit longer. Ugh..I hate bending covers though.. especially when they're library books! eep.

I prefer hardcover but sometimes the paperback has a better image.

I prefer paperback because I do a lot of reading on the train and it's easier to carry around in my handbag. I also find them easier to hold, whereas with hardcover I find them a bit big and awkward. I will buy hardcover sometimes though, when I can't wait for the paperback version to come out. I prefer the mass size paperback over the trade size because it's smaller.
