I'm still juggling "Reading Lolita in Tehran" by Azar Nafisi and "The Tenant at Wildfell Hall" by Anne Bronte.

I'm reading A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man by Joyce I've started and put down this novel twice, I can't seem to get into it for some reason. Let me know what you think once you're done reading it, and maybe give me some tips on how to get through it!

A Portrait of an Artist as a Young man....is one book I could not enjoy. The stream of consciousness is really hard to read, and I did not enjoy it at all.

Makes me feel better that I couldn't get through it, then!
I'm reading Memoria de mis putas tristes by Gabriel Garcia Marquez - I'm still not used to reading in Spanish so I'm surprised at how easy it is to read this one. Great story so far!

I thought Marquez was difficult enough to read in English but Spanish, that´s really cool!
I´m still trying to find time for reading lolita but I´m sure I´ll catch up. And not buying books makes check out too many from the library so I´m also starting "the unknown errors of our lives" by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni.

Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert Are you reading it in French? Or, if you're reading it in English, what translation are you reading? I read it last fall and did not like it at all, but realized after that I may have been reading a bad translation. Francine Prose recommends a certain translation in Reading Like a Writer, so it I decide to read it again ever, I'll read that one.
