I don't mind it, it's kind of striking... but it's a bit different from the other three I think, which are all sort of similar.

Yea. I kind of liked the simplicity of the other covers. This one not so much.

I like that this cover gives us something to think about...... maybe a checkmate so that they have to change Bella?

yea. I was reading somewhere that the red piece which is a pawn could be Jacob. Since she has often been represented as a type of "filler" for Bell (sadly enough) and the red reminds me of his "russet" wolf hair which meyer often addresses...
Just a thought

That could be right! I can't think of any other reason why that piece would be a pawn. It's not a very threatening chess piece is it? I originally thought the red piece probably represented a vampire - red because of blood. But I think your idea might make more sense.

I read 'Twilight'and I loved it. I'm currently reading 'New Moon' and I can't wait to read the other two books as well. I could pretty much say that I got addicted to them.

I was at the bookstore yesterday and I read the first chapter of Breaking Dawn in the back of the new edition of Eclipse. It wasn't really anything special, but it made me super excited for the book to come out. If only it were August 2nd right now.

Good gravy, that IS a random cover. And as everyone has said, it's totally at odds with the previous three. Who else immediately thinks of Alice in Wonderland, for some reason? Or even HP?

I thought it was surprisingly different, too. I got an email from Borders telling me to make sure I check out the cover when it is released and I was thinking that it didn't really matter because the covers are so simple. Seems like people are trying to make it like Harry Potter and the excitement when those covers were released and maybe the publishers of Breaking Dawn bought into it, too.

I adore the covers of 'Twilight' and 'New Moon'. 'Eclipse' and now that I have seen the cover of 'Breaking Dawn' not so much.

The cover on Twilight is my fave. I like the cover of BD better than Eclipse.
