I also liked to purchase books online. I get free shipping if the price is over 39$, and I get a lot great deals.

I buy books of ebay sometimes. I'm not sure if a lot of the other sites would be cheaper for me with the exchange rate, amazon works out pretty expensive. What are some good ones?

In my opinion, books in Turkiye are variable. They cost approximate $8-$14; but prices sometimes can be more expensive or cheaper than it. I buy them with my book-card in the bookstore; they're on sale with it (%10 per a new book). Prices increase until reach us and conditions are different for every places.

Wow, and I thought our book prices were outrageous. I will be more appreciative from now on.

books are expensive, but I think of it as an investment. I'll always have them, not like clothes where you don't want them after awhile.

Great! I've never tought about it...and you're right bookaddict! Buying books is an investment! I've read some books which my father bought when he was young, so, to read those books, I didn't have to buy them... he made an investment for me (he didn't know yet but he was doing an investment!)! That's great!

20% off at Dymocks tomorrow!! Can't wait! They're so expensive over here. I tend to buy my books at department stores rather than book stores for new books because they tend to be about half price.

Here books are much more expensive. Except for the classics, which are now much cheaper, I usually order books from Amazon, the shipping fee costs me almost like the books but it's still cheaper than the bookstores here!

I discovered while overseas that English books in Japan are cheaper than what they are in Australia, at least in the store I found. Grr! Everywhere seems to be cheaper than here, with the strong state of the Australian dollar you would think the prices would start to drop but they aren't, I think the big book stores are mostly just absorbing the extra profit. jobean: There's no Dymocks in my area anymore But a Boarders has just opened up so maybe they're having a sale. Other than that there's really only Angus and Robertson here and they very rarely have more than like 10 percent off the top 100. I try to wait until Kmart or Big W happen to have contemporary books I'm after too, they are so much cheaper there.

Dom, go to Myer. There's 40% RRP of all books. I bought a fair few today, all contemporary from about 13 to 15 bucks each. It was swell I think I might go again tomorrow to buy some more. I tend to go to Big W whenever there's a new book that I really want - Dymocks and Borders can be so ridiculously expensive sometimes. I think when the Australian dollar gets higher (say like $1.00 US) I might start to buy books over the internet cos it'll be cheaper.

I love buying stuff online, but books here are alot more expensive than in the US. I bought To Kill A Mockingbird online. On the back, it says "US $12,95 / $16.50 CAN". I payed 12 euros, which is about US$ 17.7.

I always find book prices pretty high.. I wish they were cheaper... In Cyprus they're more expensive than in US. Also we don't have places which sell used books. Now that I'm in US, I always buy my books used.. We have a great book fair every year here in Atlanta, which they put $1,$2,$3 or $4 for most books.. I buy around 150 books from there because of the price and read them all year long =))
