haha yes, V&D is a department store.. Vroom & Dreesman, the two names of the family's that started it. I'm pretty sure we only have it in Holland. Maybe Belgium... It's not my favorite actually.. I never buy clothes there, only things like gifts.. haha, cd's books, that sort of things.. just no clothes and shoes.. I prefer Bijenkorf, but it's mostly too expensive.. I know that they have V&D's in other countries too, but I don't know where. In Holland the V&D is just more 'known' because we have so many of them

These are the stockings were use for "pretend Christmas" which I have with the girls I live with on December 18th before we all go home for real Christmas. Not everyone has there's hung up yet, but mine is the one on the left (Robin (one of my flatmates) and I are both nicknamed Peach) My stocking tradition at home was similar to most people on here. There were filled on Christmas Eve with mostly candy and small things (often Duct tape and batteries). Our parents wrapped every single thing that went in them, including candy (like one piece at a time) to make sure it took as long as possible to open them. We were allowed to open these on our own before our parents woke up, it was a pretty good method for them to avoid being woken up at 4am by three over excited kids. Our tree for "pretend Christmas". It's a little bit Charlie-brownish. Sorry the pictures are so big, I should have resized them

Hazy, your stockings and tree are great! And that isn't a Charlie Brown tree! It doesn't look like it was ever sad.

Thanks guys. I guess I should explain why the tree is a bit Charlie Brown Aside from looking a little sparse, our tree was made in the 70s, a small church in our area had it for a long time. Eventually they got better ones and tried to sell the tree in a yard sale but no one would buy it, each year they made it cheaper and cheaper and even priced at $2 no one would take it. Finally, last Christmas, they approached Robin and I and pretty much said "hey you are students! take this tree!" So we took it home and loved it, and lived happily ever after.
