I agree, I also hate how many governments try to interpret constitutional rights to pass bills that are supposed to "protect" the people. Like security issues etc. But I have to say that US states generally have some weird laws that I don´t really understand.

This doesn't have to do with marriage, but just with homosexual relationships in general.
Nick's mom was talking the other day about a pastor at their church who recently passed away from liver cancer. She said something along the lines of, "I always liked him and thought he was a good man, but deep down I had a feeling he was gay." It took a lot of effort for me not to ask, "Gay is the opposite of good?" It really angered me...

Oh, I know, my mom can talk like that as well! I hate that My mom sometimes tells about something that has happened, at a wedding or something, and then she mentions someone is gay, while thats absolutely not necessary to tell, because it adds nothing to the story!

I hate using words about sexual preference or race when describing people. I try really hard not to...

I hate using words about sexual preference or race when describing people. I try really hard not to... I agree. It makes me embarrassed, in a way, to identify someone in a conversation by saying "they're gay." It seems to stick out like a sore thumb. While I do understand people who believe that marriage beween a man and a woman is a sacred and holy institution, I also believe that in the US we're taking it too far. Isn't America supposed to be this big melting pot of society and culture? Why are we so eager to jump on peoples' backs for being different, then? It just doesn't seem right to me, and the answer seems to be just sitting there, in reach of everyone and yet no one's reaching out to it.
