L.M. Montgomery (legend) Libby Hathorn Nick Hornby Isabelle Carmody Jo Rowling (i owe her big time)
i'd like to be like Dom or bookaddict and be able to list noted, widely admired and respected authors, but i'm beginning to accept that i'm just not very sophisticated in my likes and i guess that's ok....

I know this may seem stupid, but I only can pick my favourite authors if I've read all the books they've written, or at least thus far. So I can name a few then...
Jane Austen (read everything, even the little things, except Mansfield Park, didn't get all the way through yet) JK Rowling Libba Bray Ann Brashares (I don't know if she's written anything else than the Sisterhood series)

Yay, someone else picked Garth Nix. When I mention his name, people usually stare at me like I made it up.

such a shame...his books are awesome! i love love love sabriel! but if you don't like fantasy stuff, you won't like his books. sabriel is about a necromancer and such.
