I agree that Cathy and Heath are easily one of the most interesting couples; i can just never call them an actual "favourite" becauase that term evokes that i LIKE them and i do hate them so, hehe.
Oh Gemma and Kartik, good one bookishgirl!

Can you really not remember his name or is that an eradication joke? (It's Landen Park-Laine) hahahha I just saw this reply Michelle. I actually couldn't remember, but that's really funny!

I love all of those couples who you’ve mentioned already, especially Anne and Gilbert, Clare and Henry (The Time Traveler’s Wife), Cecilia and Robby (Atonement), Jane Eyre and Mr. Rochester, Margaret Hale and John Thornton (North and South), and, of course, all of Jane Austen's couples.
But I also want to introduce several new couples into this discussion of ours who haven’t been mentioned yet because I think they deserve at least a small mention. I love Gen and Carmen from Bel Canto; to me, their love story is very compelling, even though it's also very tragic. On the same note, I also love Daniel Sempere and Beatriz Aguilar (The Shadow of the Wind). I don’t want to give anything away, so I won’t say anything about why they’re several of my favorite couples....
My most favorite couple, however, is definitely Anne and Gilbert (What is it that Rachel Lynde mentions about those two and providence? Hehe)

Ummm...I don't know if these were stated but...
Rhett and Scarlett, although their love was kind of messed up, truth be told. Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff probably one of the most passionate, all-consuming loves of literature

My favourite couple in "Wuthering Heights" actually is Cathy (Linton) and Hareton. I love how against all odds they finally come together and put a stop to Heathcliff's destruction.
