Harry Potter Lord of the Rings The Philip Pullman Series...I can't think of the name, but it has The Golden Compass, etc. Le Morte De Arthur was insanely good even though it was a bit long....over 1,000 pages....my copy at least.

I was kind of raised on fantasy since my father digs it, and he used to read a lot to us. My favorites are of course J.R.R Tolkien, and even though I love both LOTR and the Hobbit, I think I might dare to say that Silmarillion is my favorite. Of others like The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan, and if I can place Narnia in the fantasy genre then that is a favorite too. Harry Potter is okey, light reading but I don't think one can compare J.K Rowling to Tolkien or Lewis.

So, I don't know when it happened but the other day my younger brother told me that fantasy writer Robert Jordan is dead. He is the author of the extremely exciting Wheel of Time series, which I have read everyone of, and guess what?!?! He didn't get to finish it! I know it's very cruel of me to be thinking about that when a man has died, but it totally sucks to have read eleven FAT books, and gotten totally into that world and not knowing how it's going to end. My only hope is that he pulled a Tolkien and left a bunch of extremely detailed notes for a son to take over and finish. Okay, I'm officially selfish.
