Are you making any resolutions this year?
Mine will be to read a book in Spanish every 5 books - sort of like last year, but with a bit more flexibility ;D

I'm so bad at keeping these.
I would like to start reading books in French and Italian so that I don't forget the languages.
I would also like to go back to keeping a journal and writing in it at least once a week.

I am, I didn't make any serious resolution last year.
- getting my Degree as soon as possible (that means: 3 exams by the end of February) - keeping a book journal - exercise more

Read every other book in English (Mostly I read books in Estonian). Start execising more (I already go to a volleyball practise once a week for 3 hours, but still.. ) Start eating more healthy. Volunteer more. I think that's it. They are definitely the usual promises I'm giving, but after few months don't follow anymore, but I really want to keep them this year.

- I'll read for wordtests. It's pretty hard to study languages if I'm too lazy to memorize words. - I have been the miss negative this year so next year I will have more positive thoughts. - I will read more books. I didn't get even close to my goal this year, but next year I will.

I don't bother. Because life happens and often times you just can't keep stuff up. I'd like to read more books though. I think i'm going to finish off the year with only 35 or so

I don't understand setting goals for how many books to read in a year. I read because I love it, not to meet a quota...?

I have to make plans because I don't have enough time to read. Making goals and schedules are my way to deal things like free-time and school. I'm sure this will help me when I have to do my abiturs.

- I'm going to try to eat as vegetarian as possible. I'm still not quite to the point where I'm ready to say no meat ever again. But I've stuck with the no beef, pork, any other mammal thing for awhile and I like it.
- Join a gym or find a dance studio that I like so that I will exercise more than once a week.
- Read more classics. I used to read them a lot so I'd like to get back to that.
- Find some local organizations to get involved with. I'd like to be part of the community again. And I'm pretty sure I have to do this for my job now.
- Brush up on my Spanish.
- Take piano lessons now that I have a piano again.
I think these are broad enough that I can stick to them. I'm proud of all of the changes I made in my life this year anyway so I'll be happy just to not backslide.

I'm going to try to save more money. I'll need it for school and it's never too late to start saving for my wedding in a couple years. So I guess that goal is really to buy less books. Maybe I could make a dollar amount to spend on books monthly (that doesn't roll over lol) like $30 or so. That way I can buy lots from a used bookstore or a few new.
Also I want to keep going with the losing weight and working out thing. I managed to lose about 13 pounds this past summer, and I've kept it off. But I want to tone myself some more. This also means try to eat better.
As for book goals, I don't really see the point. This next semester (spring '09) is going to be way too hectic and I definitely didn't reach my goal for this year--that doesn't make me sad, just shows me I've been busy.
Also, I'd love to get straight As at school. Next fall I will be doing my student teaching and since I won't really have any classes, it's really a matter of straight As for the spring semester--that's 6 classes for me!
