I thought I wasn't confused at first, the same as cauthon I felt the exam cleared things up a bit. But listening to the interviews of the author and everything it sounds like I missed some things, with all the talk of if you look really hard there are extra clues Blue may have missed etc. I'm glad you liked it zelda

I listened to the interview with I thought was very well done. I also figure now I need to read some Nobokov to understand it. My biggest question is where does Eva Brewster and the Bluebloods come into this? And the butterflies? Are these things connected too?

Now that I think about it, there are so many things that could have been clues. I feel like I need to read it again too. That one pen that one of the June Bugs gave her Dad, that could have been a clue. Hundreds of little things like that could be clues, I don't know where to start.
When I finished, I was left with the feeling that you're not supposed to know for SURE what happened. But keeping the interview in mind, I now think you are. So now I really want to know!

I bought Special Topics In Calamity Physics last week and I'm looking forward to read it! The book's cover (I bought the italian edition) is very nice, there are two violet butterflies on a white background..nice. So, I read what you all wrote about the book, it also has a great cover and an interesting title...I can't wait to read that!!

I just got it from the library and will probably start in momentarily. I also just realized I'm reading 5 books at once including this one, this is not good lol.

5 books are a lot to be read at once...but, I know, sometimes waiting is difficult.

I spoke to someone tonight on myspace who is doing her thesis on this book. Hopefully she comes here and helps shed some light on it for me!

Barnes and Noble just added an author event for Marisha - I'm so happy! I was hoping they would, I bought a nice hardcover after reading the book from the library and was hoping to be able to get it signed. The event is probably timed around the release of the paperback. I'll let you all know if I find out anything interesting in the QA at the signing - not sure if I will because she has to assume not everyone there has read it yet, so she might not want to spoil it. But there will hopefully be other interesting things talked about that I can share.
It's May 9.

The signing was incredible!!!! I made a Vox post about it here, with pictures: emilyw.vox.com/library/post/marisha-pessl-book-signing.htmlI had some time to talk to her as she was signing my book, and I told her that I took notes to report back to my online book club because everyone was sad they couldn't attend. She said that we should check out her myspace page - she has contact information there, and that we could collect questions we have from her from our book club, and she'll write back and answer them for us! It might be awesome to work on that and collect some questions to send her. I know a lot of us have read it, and a lot want to!
