I know everyone has problems with acne...I sure do and I really hate when I get an unexpected pimple or blackhead:( I was wondering if anyone had any tips or solutions that they use to get rid of acne and blackheads. I tried proactiv and it dried out my face a lot. So, please do not recommend proactiv because it doesn't work for me. I'll try anything because I'm really tired of it. Do you use a certain face wash that works? Do you have any tips that works for your face? Anything you post will help Thanks:)

Go to a dermatologist. And exfoliate frequently (use a washcloth, or a scrub).

I second the advice about going to a dermatologist. If nothing you've tried works, including proactiv, it's definitely time to seek a professional.
Often times birth control works really well for girls with acne - especially ones who nothing else seems to work for. The hormones in it help control/balance your own, and most girls clear up right away.

Lots of pimples are hormone related with some people so it might be a good option. I've never suffered from bad acne, only a pimple now and then, but when I went on the contraceptive pill I stopped getting even the occassional pimple.

I use a lot of the tree tea oil things from th ebodyshop, I really like them. But I don't know if my lack of pimples lately is because I use that, or because I got my bangs out of my face.. I also use Nivea Visage Young's facial creams, but I'm not sure if they sell those in other countries.. I guess going to a dermatologist would be a good idea, but I never did that... even though I've thought about it

Well, I use Aok, it works well for me. And for me it was always about what I ate, too much chocolate gave me pimples. I second the dermatologist.

I also use Nivea Visage Young's facial creams, but I'm not sure if they sell those in other countries.. I'm lately using that one too I tend to change creams a lot but I've never had big problems with acne. One of my closer friends did when she was younger and nothing worked until she went to the dermatologist, so I second that advice.

I had to go to a dermatologist. I have a morning topical lotion (Klaron lotion) and an evening lotion (Glycolic Acid, a percentage mix w/ something else). It's the only thing that works b/c I get the deep kind. As far as normal face wash I use Mary Kay b/c my sister-in-law sells it. I like supporting her business! I haven't noticed it being any better or worse using any other kind of OTC wash. I tried Proactiv as well but to no avail. It seems for me that any kind of salicylic acid or benzoyil peroxide doesn't work on me.

I don't really have an acne problem, i occasionally get stress acne, but Clinique has nice face washes and they have an acne line. It's kind of pricey but because none of their stuff is really heavy, it doesn't make your skin problems worse and its all very gentle.

I use Clinique products too! I think their 3-step system works really well... I was lucky to go through my teens without any skin problems, but lately I've noticed some blackheads and I can't seem to get rid of them...

i agree with seeing the dermatologist, but I think getting pimples is usually related to stress and when your period is upcoming. I just wash my face everyday and apply a topical cream every night that my doctor prescribed. Also I drink lots of water and try to eat as healthily as I can. Also, having a facial every week (steaming your face and putting on a mask) is relaxing and I think it works. You could also try changing your pillow case every now and again (since it's infested with dead skin cells, but then again what isn't? )
