I think maybe someone mentioned this on another thread, but I'm not sure. Earth Hour is a worldwide event where people are asked to not use electricity for one hour on March 29th. There is more information about it at www.earthhour.org (sorry if only it takes you to the north america site). Earth Hour started in Australia last year and has become an international event aimed at global warming awareness. It is taking place in North America from 8pm-9pm on March 29th. I'm not sure if it is at different times in different places. Does anyone plan on participating?

I participated yesterday!! It was so much fun lol, 70% of my town (Tel Aviv) participated. The neighborhood was pretty much dark except for 3-4 windows, and we lit candles instead.

That's really cool. I'm actually surprised that Ann Arbor isn't listed as a participating city since it usually loves joining in liberal causes, but I plan on doing it and I emailed everyone I know about it.

I plan on participating, my boyfriend is grouchy because he will be working during it and can't figure out how to participate.
