How much time do you spend on researching, and writing your paper's?
I spend about a month researching, then about 3 days writing and proofing my papers.

I don't think I could really put a time on it. I tend to procrastinate, so it depends a lot on how much time I have and how big of a paper it is. I usually start by gathering information, then reading said information, maybe a week on reading and making notes. Sometimes a paragraph or sentence will just come to me (often while I'm trying to sleep) so I'll write that down, but usually I only spend a day or two writing the paper.

I love doing the research, I don't starting a paper. Starting is always hard for me.

It depends on the how much the paper is worth, grade wise, and how long its supposed to be. But usually a couple months for the whole thing. A month and a half for research and the rest for writing. I sometimes go a little bit overboard with the research.

so far this year we've only written 1 paper that had to have research for it. the one i'm gonna revise in a minute didn't need to have research, but i knew where to find stuff to uphold my argument so i used it. when i do have to research, i spend a couple weeks on it, if i have time, and then i write a rough draft without going through it afterwards. then i get it back and write the final.

I haven´t really had to write papers with so much research. The one I did for a philosophy class took about a month. I did my research in the first week and then typed the paper directly into the computer, usually I write on paper first. I typed a couple of pages every few days.

I write my papers out by hand, and then type them on the computer.

I like writing it down on paper, because then I can edit it as I type everything in.

if i know it's just a rough draft and i have another chance to fix it, i just write the draft and don't reread it and hand it in. then i fix it to my own taste and what the teacher tells me to.

I like writing it down on paper, because then I can edit it as I type everything in. I like doing parts on paper because I feel that they turn out better, like sitting down and writing it means I'm more careful how I say it and the spelling and stuff somehow. But I don't always have time.

I hate doing citations. Every teacher wants them done a different way, and it drives me nuts.

o i hate the stupid different citations. there's APA (american psychological assoc.) and MLA (modern language assoc.). there's another one for science of some sort, but i've never needed to use it. what i hated was in 10th grade i had to write a paper to turn in to both honors english and honors biology. so i had to turn it in in english first and she wanted APA, but my bio teacher failed to mention he wanted it in MLA. i definitely got an F on that paper, not for just that mistake but among others. amazingly i still had a B at the end of the year...

The only system that really makes sense to me is Chicago style. But most of my teachers hate that one.
In my English lit class, we were given a website that told us how to do MLA style. But between her giving us the site, and us handing in the paper the style was changed.

oh god I hate this too. I often lose marks because I forget I'm not writing a law essay and use footnotes instead of in text references. I have a citation style for law and then two different ones for communications. Supposedly the program end note is really helpful for this type of thing, it does your citations for u somehow.
