Public transport is also quite expensive even though politicians are trying to convince people not to go by car because of air pollution. Can you also use public transport with your college card for certain areas?

Well, my city only has one shuttle system and it's the university's. But anyone can ride it for free. Not many people do though. It only really goes to the northern parts of the city, not the southern or western parts. Most people just have a car. We don't have a public transportation system because we're not that big and not a very wealthy community. That's one thing the US is slower on than Europe: public transportation.

In Montreal we have a great public transportation system. It's also cheaper then Ontario's system. I use public transportation all the time. We have bus, train, and metro.

I don't think any city in Ohio has a metro/subway. I know some have trains, especially for commuters, and many have buses, but most cities my size are too small for it. There's like 30,000 people in my city, only including the thousands of university students. No buses except for the university shuttle for us.

Yeah, the metro/bus/train system in Montreal is great! In Quebec City our public transportation system isn't that great, but I'm lucky because I live close to the campus so I have access to all the best bus lines. It's still fairly expensive, though.

Lately I've been playing around on Yahoo! Answers and there's a question about why Quebec wants to separate from the rest of Canada. I'd never heard of anything like this before. Is this true?

yes, there has been many debates. We had a referendum which the "no" side barely won. Many Quebec people are very sensitive to the dabate, mostly french people.

True, we had two referendums - one in 1980, the other in 1995, and as bookaddict said, the last one's results were No 51% and Yes 49%. It used to be talked about a lot, but it seems like the idea is slowly fading away... We've just been recognized as a separate nation by the new Prime Minister, but I'm not sure what that means

In the area that I live....very close to the Bible Belt....people get married and then have kids. Although it seems like more and more teenagers at the schools are getting pregnant and dropping out. Anyway, most people get married in their twenties here. Very young...and then have kids before they're thirty. Come to think of it, it's kind of rushed down here. lol
