Okay, it's another crazy CRAZY thread idea from Neh, resident board lunatic! ;D I got this idea somehow while over at the Visual Displays thread *another crazy idea that ended up being fairly popular - fingers crossed for this one* I think the title says it all: if your pet could read, what book/s and or/authors do you think they'd like? For example, my cat Olly is nowdays quite lazy and sleepy, but in general he's part snob, part mummy's boy, part nutter, so i think he'd like a mix of some Dickens, some Austen *he always watches the film adaptations with mum and i* and perhaps some Roald Dahl and James Ellroy thrown in there too, on days when he's feeling a little more energetic *coz he does like Law and Order etc.* Our other kitty Toby is still a crazy little kitten, so i think he'd enjoy typical boys books like Paul Jennings etc, and comic books. When he's older, i expect sport magazines will be on the menu, as he loves to play soccer.

That´ll be your nickname here: Crazy- thread- Neh! You´re cat sounds like mine! She likes to sleep near me and that´s where the books are so she just sleeps on them. I think she might actually be reading them. Yesterday it was the historian and today it´s a book on school reforms (for a paper). She didn´t seem to like Dickens but I think that was because it didn´t smell right (second hand book, smells like cigarettes)

That´ll be your nickname here: Crazy- thread- Neh! ;D great thread! I don't have any pets now but I had a cat some years ago, he was very cute and quiet and I think he'd have liked mostly classics. I wish I had some pictures of him...

My dog Rudy is very smart so I think he would read alot of non-fiction and also alot of self-help books because he is kind of neurotic! I think he would also like Chuck Palahnuik books because he's a rough and tumble boy even though he's only pint sized!

Um...The Great Gatsby?... LOL ;D ;D I love that you named your pets after that book! At the moment my only pet is a chicken named Speckle, and she's not very bright! Maybe a children's book? lol that Are You My Mother one where the chicken goes around looking for it's mother and asking machinary and things if they are her mother.

I also came up with the theory that poor Speckle would be menapausal by now, and is regretting never having been a mother, so i think perhaps when here fears and anxieties get the better of her she reads some slef-help books, such as "The Change" or "The Blue Day Book". Hehe, Dorothy, i love my new name, thankyou! *bows* Thanks y'all for joining in on the nuttiness!

Hmm, Hairy McLary from Donaldson's Dairy (my dog has been mistaken for HM by some kids in the neighbourhood) or Babette Coles 'Truelove' (about a dog who has to adapt to the arrival of a baby - all works out well in the end . Speaking of cats, have any of you seen the book "All Cats Have Aspergers Syndrome". Pretty good.
