I looked and I didn't see a thread about poetry anywhere. If I missed it I am sorry. I recently just read "I Carry Your Heart With Me" by E.E. Cummings and fell in love with it. Now I have this huge obsession with poetry. What I really want to know is who you think the best poets/poems are? And if there are any good books that are poems by lots of different authors?

I recommend picking up a copy of "Good Poems" by Garrison Keillor - it's an awesome collection of poetry from many poets. I think he has absolutely wonderful taste in poetry. He also has a sequel called "Good Poems for Hard Times" which is excellent as well, and not as sad as it sounds. Try The Writer's Almanac too (that's where the poetry in those two books comes from). You can read the poems and literary history online, in a daily email, or on the podcast (which is great because garrison's voice is like medicine to my day). writersalmanac.publicradio.org/

Thanks for the suggestions. I am going to the library today so I'll see if they have any of those.

Dirge without Music by Edna St. Vincent Millay is my favorite poem. I got a verse of it tattoo'd on my back
