You didn't like Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy?!?!? But he IS Mr. Darcy!! ;D Of course, I'm one of those who didn't like the new Pride and Prejudice movie but not necessarily because of the actors they chose (although Keira Knightley as Elizabeth was a weird choice), I just thought there were two many things that were wrong and didn't reflect the novel well. I WHOLE HEARTEDLY agree!

OOOHHHH!! I forgot to mention this. But they are making a movie about the Bronte Sisters. what's cool is the cast! Although I'm not too thrilled about Michelle Williams being cast as charlotte
Michelle Williams ... Charlotte Brontë
Jonathan Rhys Meyers ... Branwell Brontë
Nathalie Press ... Emily Brontë Emily Barclay ... Anne Brontë
Ben Chaplin ... Arthur Bell Nicholls
Hugh Dancy ... George Smith

I loved north & south as a bbc mini series. (really, I LOVED it) I haven't read the book though, is it any good? That 600 pages of North & South kind of scared me in the library It was so heavy I didn't take it home.

Yes North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell (who was a friend and the first biogrpaher of Charlotte Bronte, btw). I want to read it too (N&S), because i adore the BBC version (Richard Armitage... YUM!!!!!!) I'm going to get pelted with rotten fruit for saying this but i'm not a Colin Firth fan, nor am i wild about the character of Mr Darcy (several PAP character really get under my skin actually) I acknowledge that he played it well and that millions upon millions of females adore him in it and i shall always be in the minority, but i just find him bland and aggrivating. I'm sorry! The Bronte film i'm looking forward to, mainly to make sure they don't leave poor Anne out of the mix too much. I really like Nathalie Press (see her in "My Summer of Love") so i also look forard to her portrayl of Emily.

I just saw an ad for Nancy Drew the movie... they're going to ruin it I used to love those books. I've read many book bloggers who say that this new Nancy Drew movie is definitely not for people who grew up reading the books. It's just another teenie movie. But maybe it will at least get some of them to read the books, and read something other than gossip girls or the clique books for once. It seems movies based on books for young people can either be very good or completely horrible. But most of the time they are completely horrible. I refused to see the Eloise movie, it looked so absolutely terrible.

I've never read the books (I think..) but I googled it, and wikipedia says it's about a 'detective' girl..? and I watched the trailer, but that seems to be more about a girl... who is a bit old fashioned... it seems like a bad movie actually.. I wouldn't go to the theater to watch it...
I still think that Clueless was a very good modern view on Emma...

Nancy Drew is a detective series as wikipedia says, it's set in the 50's (I think from memory) and she's about 20. In the trailer she looked a lot younger.
