I loved Of Mice and Men and I'd like to read more by Steinbeck but I can't decide which of his works read next, any suggestions?? What is your favorite Steinbeck?

I'm in the same boat as you - I really liked Of Mice and Men and want to read more. My next will be Grapes of Wrath, because I bought it. But I've also heard that East of Eden is amazing, so I want to read that as well.

I loved both Grapes of Wrath and East of Eden. I also enjoyed "The Pearl".

Whatever you do, don't read "The Red Pony" - it was one of my worst literary experiences!

The Red Pony was brutal. I've heard good things about The Moon is Down.

I didn't like The Grapes of Wrath too much, but I think Tortilla Flat is definitely worth reading. It's pretty short and light stuff compared to The Grapes of Wrath.

I read The Red Pony last summer was horrible for me too. Isn't it considered a children's book too? I'm glad I didn't read it as a kid... but I cried at the end of Of Mice and Men.

East of Eden is good although I'm not a huge Steinbeck fan.

The Pearl is good. The Wayward Bus is also really good. But that deals with much more mature topics, so if you don't want to deal with any of that, don't read it.

I've only read Grapes of Wrath, well, aside from Of Mice and Men. And it was okay, but long. I read it for school, so I didn't enjoy that part too much, but it still wasn't a bad book. It's okay if you're willing to put in the time.

I went to a bookstore before going to cinema and watching Pirates Of the Caribbean, and I saw they only had Of Mice And Men I'll go to library.
