I've finished reading So Many Books, So Little Time last week and I enjoyed it. It was interesting and amusing to read about a person's readings. I really liked the chapter about Anna Karenina and Madame Bovary, probably because I read and loved both the novels (and, btw, I've always liked Levin more than Vronsky ;D ). I could recognise myself in some of the things the author did, like being "double-booked" or reading when I can't sleep at night. I found weird the fact that she's afraid of readings recommendation from friends, that if she doesn't like that book, their friendship would inevitably weaken...luckily I'm not like that, and my bestfriend isn't either...or we would become enemies the moment we started high school, or few months later!

I saw this book a couple of months ago at the book store and wrote it down to look into. It sounds really good and since you guys are giving it such rave reviews I'll have to get it soon!

I have to say, I didn't like it. It was kind of boring and the books she discussed were really obscure and random. Maybe it's because I read and heard such great things about it that I was a little disappointed once I had read it.

I'll admit that I haven't heard of many of the books she mentioned! I also think it strange that she doesn't like to read books her friends recommend. My friends wouldn't be offended if I didn't like a book they did. It's not like they are the author. Plus, whats the point in sharing books if you don't want to discuss one's thoughts on them. O.K, rant is over. Other than those things I really did like the book, I share alot of similarities with her, especially when it comes to reading!

yet another book that I got halfway through and didn't finish - not because I wasn't enjoying it though, just got distracted. has inspired me to be more methodical in recording my reading so could even say it indirectly lead me to this website!

I didn't know many of the books she mentioned either but I'm always glad to hear about a "new" book. I agree with you lindsay, I don't understand her because I like reading suggestions by friends and they'd not be offended either.

I also hadn't heard of a lot of them and thought, at the time, that there were a few I would like to read. It would have been good if she had included a summary of all the books mentioned at the end as a reminder (ie, in addition to the lists of what she didn't read and what she did read but didn't mention in the book).

I've read the book a while ago and I loved it.. It was funny and I could relate myself to the writer .. Also for the people who consider to buy this book but hesitate because it's in English, my English is not that good but still I read this book in English and I can say it was one of the easy-t0-read books I've ever read... So don't hesitate..

Just started it and I am really enjoying it. Her voice is great in the writing. Hoping it continues on this good vein!
