I think I'm in the minority with liking Jacob, so I was just curious how everyone else feels now that so many of us have read the series.

I do like Jacob, since he was the one to pull Bella out of her depression and he cares about her. However, ever since I first read Twilight, I have been all Edward, all the way (as far as being Bella's love interest).

Michelle, you are not alone, I love Jacob as well. A LOT more than Edward!

I'm pretty close to being on the fence but I decided to vote Edward. I found Jacob a bit annoying at times (I think in the third book? I dunno they've started to blend together a bit in my memory). I guess I like them both but I sort of think it will always be Edward. I see Jacob more as that friend you could always settle for if you weren't in love and who may even be better for you in the end but when it comes down to it, it will never be him. My perspective anyway I like Jacob though, I think he's a great character. But at the same time Edward can be annoyingly perfect. Oh and that whole breaking up with Bella thing was infuriating. Hmm....

I think I never recovered from Edward leaving Bella for so long. The only thing that got her through it was Jacob.
And I find Edward too overprotective. I understand that Bella sort of attracts danger, but I can't condone a relationship where the man is always telling the woman what to do. I think Jacob lets her be herself more often.
I love Jacob. I would chose him, but I understand that it is probably going to always be Edward.
Ben thinks that maybe it's a Pacey-Joey-Dawson thing and she will end up with Jacob in the end (and yes, I made Ben both watch Dawson's Creek and read Twilight). But I think it's still going to be Edward.

I voted Edward. I think Jacob is too childish (maybe b/c I am 27 not YA like the book is meant for?) and Edward is more mature somehow. I also like that he is her protector -- almost like her angel.

But I think it's still going to be Edward. Lol Ben sounds very easy going compared to Phillip I tried to get him to watch one episode of Dawson's once and I was prevented from even putting the dvd in the machine! I actually found all the oh Bella she's so weak and fragile and needs constantly saving a bit wearing in the end, so I can see how people would tire of Edward's overprotectiveness.

Lol Ben sounds very easy going compared to Phillip I tried to get him to watch one episode of Dawson's once and I was prevented from even putting the dvd in the machine! Yes - he is very easy going. All I have to do in return is be willing to watch 24 and South Park. The only thing I haven't been able to persuade him to read so far is Little Women.

I voted for Jacob.
Edward is too protective that he misses sharing some experiences with Bella. Remember when they decided they can't ride motorcycles together because Edward would be too protective? Edward also doesn't share alot of stuff with Bella because he is afraid he is gonna scare her. On the other hand, Jacob takes care of her and make sure she is safe but still share everything with her and allow her to be herself and go crazy sometimes. Edward's overprotection is leaning a bit towards a father's than a boyfriend's. If it was me I would be definitely annoyed.
I also like how Jacob notices things like how Bella used to hold herself together when Edward was away and how he gave her time to recover. And I like how she finds it easy to be around him and talk to him.
But I have to admit that yes Jacob is a bit childish.

I voted for Jacob. I really hated Edward. I thought that he was the annoying one not Jacob and the fact that Edward left Bella was just terrible for her. I'm glad she found a friend like Jacob. Oh yeah, Werewolves are better than vampires haha.

I vote for Edward, only because I reallly don't like Jacob for kissing Bella [and Bella for kissing him back[ and making her love them both. The only reason that I logically pick Edward though, was that you guys saw what happened to her when he left. She fell apart. Even though Jacob was there to pick up the pieces, still, a piece of her was missing and that's why Edward is logiclally the right choice.

WOOHOO! I'm the only one who picked neither of 'em, coz they both tend to drive me batty with their own brand of assuming, domineering, controlling behaviour... at various points throughout the series i have wanted Bella to b****slap them both! But she can be pretty darn spineless, that girl.... Sorry to all who i may be upsetting with my seemingly feminisy stance against both characters but neither do it for me... personally i dream of the day when Bella leaves them both behind! But i know, she belongs with Ed and all that jazz. Le sigh... mabye i should just write my own version of the novels, hehe! I doubt anyone would want to read it though!
