Well I've been feeling my playlist has been getting a little stale lately and I was wondering if anyone has any good music recommendations? No top 40 music or anything I mainly want stuff I might not have heard before Also I really like the band Air and would love to get some more french music but don't know where to start, can anybody help me out?

This one is not french, but you have to listen to Moneybrother. He's from Sweden and I don't know if he is well known in the U.S. or Australia. I went to his concert last month and it was amazing. "Mount Plaesure" is his new album. Maybe you would like that?!

The music I listen to changes a lot, but the bands I keep coming back to are Phoenix, Razorlight, The Cribs, Arctic Monkeys... generally indie rock kind of genre. Has anyone heard of any music which is along those lines? I'm getting bored of my music as well.

Thanks guys I'm going to download and test out all your recommendations. Carma: I mainly don't like rap and rnb music, I'm pretty open to everything else. It's great having new suggestions cos I get so sick of all my songs and the popular stuff on the radio

Here are some of my favorite artists I've discovered while hunting for new music because I was so sick of my old music:
Gus Black, Amos Lee, Sondre Lerche, Jeremy Fisher, Sufjan Stevens. Ray LaMontagne

Sometimes when I get sick of my music, I find that compilations and soundtracks are a good place to start because you get a bunch of different music in one place. The OC, Scrubs, and Grey's Anatomy have good soundtracks and then you can branch off from there.

I really liked the Garden State soundtrack. It has great indie rock on it and I discovered some new bands that I love from that

Yes, I think I said this the other day, but Garden State is quite possibly the best movie soundtrack ever. That's how I learned about The Shins.

you know the shins were on Gilmore Girls once.. I remember looking them up, because I liked the music.. but then I forgot all about it, until a friends of mine send me on of their songs and now I have all their cd's.. and after that I found out they were on GG and then I remembered I'd already looked them up..

There's used to be a great great GG fansite where you could download a TON of songs that have been on the show.... i just wish i knew what it was and where it went, coz i can't find it!! But i love soundtracks - they're so handy, with so much good stuff compilated and usually linked by a theme etc. I admit though i'm even more of a sucker for Broadway Cast recording, hehe! Is anyone interested in hearing the debut cd from film actress Emmy Rossum? (she's been in Phantom of the Opera, Poseidon, The Day After Tomorrow, Mystic River)
