I just saw the trailer for 'invisble children', wich is about children in Uganda who are soldiers. I haven't seen this documentary, but it was made a couple of years ago and shown on MTV. I've seen little bits of it, and I felt touched already. The documantory is so real and so hartbreaking that I watched the trailer yesterday with tears in my eyes. Have anyone here seen this documentary? I want to see it but I can't find on google where I can buy it in Holland. Official site with the trailer: www.invisiblechildren.com/theMovie/media/index.php?mediaID=1646005926If you can't watch the vid on the site, here's the trailer on youtube:

I haven't seen this, but I've heard of it. I've read a book called A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier by Ishmael Beah and it was similar to what this documentary seems to be. I'd recommend it to you if you think you'd want to read something rather than watch it. However, this memoir takes place in Sierra Leone, not Uganda. It's such a shame that Africa is in such a bad state of affairs. I'll watch this when I get home from work (since I can't listen when I'm here)

Thanks! I will see if they have the book in the library here or in the bookstore... It's not really that I want more info about childsoldiers in Uganda, so it is a very good recommendation. Thanx!

It's a good read. Obviously the content can get to you a little, and you have to wonder about what goes on in people's head when war ravages their country, but I don't think it was too graphic for anyone on the board to handle. I highly recommend it.
