Okay, so I'm really late on this. Because there's only until 8pm EDT to vote for the new Seven Wonders of the World. That's only about 9-10 hours and I know that somewhere some of you are probably in bed already. But, if you care to vote for the new Seven Wonders, here's the website:

You don't really register. It just asks for an email to send a confirmation thing of your vote. I voted:
-Eiffel Tower -Great Wall of China -Hagia Sophia (learned a lot about it in a history class) -Sydney Opera House -the Kremlin in St. Basil -Colosseum -Neuschwanstein Castle

The results are in and the new 7 wonders are: The Great Wall of China, Rome's Colosseum, India's Taj Mahal, Peru's Machu Picchu, Brazil's Statue of Christ Redeemer, Jordan's Petra and Mexico's Chichen Itza pyramid. I voted for 5 of the 7, so I'm happy

I've visited two of those "wonders!" (Christ Redeemer and Machu Picchu) but I don't think I would have voted for Christ, it's so new compared to all the others isn't it?
As for the seven nature wonders I noticed that Geirangerfjord, Norway was one of the valid examples. I hope it gets on the list because it is just amazing. It's actually in my county so I've seen it a lot, but it never stops being breathtaking!

I don't know about the Christ Redeemer, I agree that it's a pretty new wonder. But I would love to visit it the pictures I have seen of it are amazing.

The websites I've checked don't mention Geirangerfjord so I musn't be looking at the right ones. I like that the Christ Redeemer was picked - I've only seen it on TV but it looks pretty impressive.

Only two of my votes actually became new wonders, as you could all probably tell by my list and the results But I thought it was interesting how it was an open worldwide vote. Of course, with that plan, you get a lot of votes for something maybe because it looks cool or something like that. To be quite honest, that's the only reason I voted for the Kremlin. But the other ones I voted for were because I actually knew something about them and thought they deserved to be wonders. I'm not sad at what was picked, but I agree with most of you about the Christ Redeemer.
I just thought of something kinda cool. What are all of your seven wonders? I mean, what are the best seven places you've ever been to? So, in the world you've experienced and traveled, what are your seven wonders, natural or otherwise?

Great question, Kristie! If we're allowed to include natural wonders as well, so far I think I'd go with:
Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada St. Sulpice Church in Paris, France Winchester Cathedral in Winchester, UK The Mayan Pyramid of Coba in Mexico Plaza de la Catedral in Havana, Cuba Tower Bridge in London, UK Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada
But I've so much left of the world to discover!

www.natural7wonders.com/I found Geirangerfjord under examples of valid nominations;) But now I nominated both Geirangerfjord and Matterhorn in Switzerland:) Maybe I should have nominated Lake Titicaca too....well, too late;)

Oh I see, I must have been looking at the old ones because I didn't know they were looking for new natural wonders as well. Thanks for the link!
