I had no idea a movie was in the works, I still haven't read that novel...
Fanning sisters set for 'Keeper' Duo join Cameron Diaz in Nick Cassavetes film By MICHAEL FLEMING
New Line Cinema has set siblings Dakota and Elle Fanning to star with Cameron Diaz in "My Sister's Keeper," the Nick Cassavetes-directed adaptation of the Jodi Picoult novel. Production begins this March in Los Angeles.
Elle Fanning will play a young girl who sues for emancipation from her parents. Mom and Dad conceived her as a genetic match with the hope she could prolong her cancer-ridden sister's life.
Jeremy Leven wrote the script, and Mark Johnson will produce. Both teamed with Cassavetes and New Line on "The Notebook."
Pic marks the first time that the girls will work in scenes together on a film; both appeared in "I Am Sam."
The girls are younger than they were in Picoult's novel, but a decision was made to cast them younger because it was age-appropriate for Diaz.
Dakota Fanning recently completed the ensemble drama "Winged Creatures" with Kate Beckinsale and Forest Whitaker and is in Hong Kong shooting "Push," a Paul McGuigan-directed drama with Chris Evans and Djimon Honsou. Elle Fanning recently completed "Benjamin Button" and the indie drama "Phoebe in Wonderland," and she just completed "Nutcracker: The Untold Story," in which she has the starring role.

Jeez...does Dakota Fanning have to be in every movie ever made with a young girl in it? And I don't think it will work as well making them younger.

Cameron Diaz? I reckon they could have cast better than that...

Yea, I was just going to say that. I am excited about the Fanning sisters but not so excited about Diaz. I don't like her acting much

Goodness, why did they have to take those Fanning girls? And it is a great idea that they're even younger than in the book. I can totally picture a ten-year-old hiring a lawyer. Very realistic.

The Fanning sisters have quit the project because Dakota didn't want to shave her head - she will be replaced by Abigail Breslin, the Little Miss Sunshine girl

I like her! But who will be playing the other sister when the other Fanning sister has also quit?

Which sister is Breslin playing? She's too young for both, but she's def. too young to take the older sister role that Dakota was going to have.

She'll be playing the younger sister. Sofia Vassilieva (?) will play the eldest.

Well I still think she's too young but I like her loads better than Dakota Fanning so I'll take it.
