I read the "Memory Keepers Daughter" is was really good. I'd recommend it. Some parts were a little slow for me, but the story was interesting.

Oh good, someone whose read it. I have it on hold from the library, and have been wondering if it's worth getting out.

I think some parts were slow for me because I had a ton of school work...but I liked the story and couldn't wait to finish it.

I don't think I'll have that problem. My mid-terms will be over by the time the book finally comes in.

1. Emma by Austen 2. Vanity Fair by Thackeray 3. The Guy Not Taken by Jennifer Weiner 4. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith 5. Trading Up by Candice Bushnell
Plus whatever books I happen to find when browsing in the library, which I do quite often, so I'm bound never to make it to my "books to be read" list. ;D

Browsing at the library creates havoc in my to be read pile. Especially since my library is part of a system, and the catalogue of the whole system is on the internet. When I'm bored in computer class, I just sit there picking out books.

I do that too! And, my library card lets me check out books from 30 area libraries and there are 2 in a five mile radius of my house! Plus, I always have meetings at the libraries because they're public buildings, so if I'm early, I'll kill time by browsing.

My library gets all the books from the system shipped there, so I don't have to go very far. Its like they're teasing me.

Haha. Can you have them ship it over online or do you have to make two trips?

1. The Paris Review Interviews vol. 1 2. Galapagos by Kurt Vonnegut 3. White Teeth by Zadie Smith 4. Jane Eyre 5. The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion I really enjoyed White Teeth. I read it when it first came out and was really excited when I heard she was touring here. But, she was such a huffy (literally sighing into the microphone the whole time!) and unfriendly speaker - it was an interview format and she was not very nice to the interviewer. Anyway, the book was great so I hope that you enjoy it too. I woudn't really bother with her follow up The Autograph Man though - was quite boring and no where near as good!
