Are you talking of an American professor teaching in Germany or in the States? I really wonder what German courses are like in English speaking countries, I have never attended one and am curious.

I think I settled in a career. I'm looking into paralegal studies. I think I would really enjoy it. I realy enjoed my law classes in University. I'm only worried about my french studies, because writing french is hard. I can speak french no problem, it's the writing that worries me. It'll be a 3 year program, and I'll get credited some courses, so it won't be a very heavy workload.

My boyfriend's cousin is a paralegal and she really likes it. If you get into a practice that specialises in an interesting area of law I think it would be a really good career.

I was hoping to maybe get into aboriginal law at some point. I'm native and love learning about it.

I was nervous about wanting to do the program, but Daniel told me that i'm still realy young and it's a good option. MY school is paid for so I won't have loans, and i'll have summers off where I can work. We'll stay with my parents for the 3 years, but atleast i'm guarenteed a job when i'm finished. Once I have the program we'll be set, each with a good job. Then we can get married and get settled. My parents don't mind, they want me to finish my school b efore moving out.

That sounds like a great plan Aboriginal law is really fascinating, but here it doesn't come into play in the actual legislature a lot, apart from the Native Title Act, which is kind of a shame in many cases. They changed that act last year too so that it further limits who can claim land due to native title, which is bad when they have such a strong connection to it. There are a lot of Aboriginal social issues in the media here regularly, most of the problems are in rural towns up north, but one that has been in the spotlight a lot has been the sexual abuse of aboriginal children, mainly by white people. The children then get classified as of risk and taken away from their family and moved to relatives or something somewhere. The whole thing is pretty shocking. Basically the white men go to these towns on purpose because they're poverty stricken and the children are often at risk due to the alcohol addictions or what not of their parents. It's really sad.

In Canada there is a lot of issues concerning Aboriginals. It really does fascinate me, the whole history and issues. This seems like a good plan to me lol.

Haha, this sounds so funny hearing you guys talk about actual careers. I know I'm going to have one in a few years, but in my Interpersonal Communications class we're just doing resumes, cover letters, and mock interviews. I've done this before in high school, but it's interesting that I'm pretending to look for a job, and you really are deciding on a set career path. Towards the end of college, I'm definitely thinking I'll be going into my Peter Pan mode a lot.

Don't worry about it too much, sometimes life has a way of deciding for you - I never thought about becoming an editor (I wanted to be a professor) but it sort of came along and I love my job!
And it does sound like a good plan bookaddict, I'm happy for you!
