"Of course anyone who truly loves books buys more of them than he or she can hope to read in one fleeting lifetime. A good book, resting unopened in its slot on a shelf, full of majestic potentiality, is the most comforting sort of intellectual wallpaper." - David Quammen, The Boilerplate Rhino

That and zelda's quote are utter GEMS! *applause*
Now, to break the serious tone i'm going to put something random from The Simpsons up here - my mate had it on her Facebook and it's one of Homer's many shining moments:
"Kids, you tried your best, and you failed miserably. The lesson is: never try."
Some other doozies she had up: "Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much." - Oscar Wilde
"I don't know if God exists, but it would be better for His reputation if He didn't." - Jules Renard
"I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book." - Groucho Marx
"Last words are for fools who haven't said enough." - Karl Marx
Cheers Elise! ;D

Hahaha yes- that quote does make me feel better about all my book buying! I do intend to read all the books I own someday, but mostly it just seems like there are too many already!!
